Bon tricot!

Gauge: 10 sts x 14 rows on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm. Pattern: See charts. The pattern is seen from the right side. Increasing tips (for the collar): Inc by knitting 2 sts in the outermost st. Knitting tips (for neckband): All decs are made from right side. Dec 1 st inside 4 button band sts + the sts increased for collar as follows: Before button band sts: K 2 tog After button band sts: Slip 1 st as if to knit, K 1, psso. Back: Cast on 42-46-50-54-60 sts on smaller needles. Knit 4 rows garter st, change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 15 and 23 cm inc 1 st at each side = 46-50-54-58-64 sts. When the piece measures 32-33-34-35-36 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-0-1-1-2 times and 1 st 2-3-3-4-4 times = 36-38-38-40-42 sts. When the piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm bind off the center 8-8-8-10-10 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge = 13-14-14-14-15 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Left front: Note: because of the pattern, the front of the cardigan will be lower at the center (see diagram on page 21). Cast on 25-27-29-31-34 sts on smaller needles. Knit 4 rows garter st, change to larger needles 9 and stockinette st, keeping 4 sts at center front edge in garter st for the buttonband, to finished measurements. Read the rest of Left Front section before knitting: Knit 2 rows stockinette st after the garter st rows, then knit the next row as follows (right side row): K 1 (edge st), 2-4-6-8-11 sts stockinette st, then Pattern 1 over the remaining 22 sts (the 4 sts at the left side of the chart are the 4 buttonband sts in garter st). Continue as established over all sts until Pattern 1 is complete - then knit stockinette st over all sts. At the same time when the piece measures 15 and 23 cm inc 1 st at the side = 27-29-31-33-36 sts. Collar: When the piece measures 31-32-33-34-35 cm cast on 7 new sts at the center front for collar - knit in garter st the same as the buttonband sts. Now inc 1 st for collar every other row 3 times - see Increasing tips = 10 collar sts + 4 buttonband sts. Knit these 14 sts in garter st to finished measurements. Armhole: When the piece measures 32-33-34-35-36 cm bind off for armhole at the side as on back. Neckband: When the piece measures 34-35-36-37-38 cm dec 1 st for the neck every other row 9-9-9-10-10 times - see knitting tips. After all shaping is complete there are 23-24-24-24-25 sts. When the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm bind off the 13-14-14-14-15 shoulder sts (incl. 4 button band sts) and put the remaining 10 collar sts on a st holder. Right front: Cast on and knit the same as the left but after the 2 rows stockinette st after the garter st, knit Pattern 2 over the first 22 sts (the 4 sts at the right side of chart are the 4 buttonband sts in garter st), 2-4-6-8-11 sts stockinette st, K 1 (edge st). Shape collar, neckband and armhole as on left front reversing all shaping. Make buttonholes along buttonband (1 buttonhole = K tog the 2nd and 3rd sts from center front edge, then yo. On the next row, twist the yo when knitting so that the buttonhole will not stretch out too large.Make buttonholes when the piece measures: Size S: 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 cm. Size M: 3, 11, 18, 25 and 32 cm. Size L: 3, 11, 18, 26 and 33 cm. Size XL: 3, 12, 19, 27 and 34 cm. Size XXL: 3, 11, 19, 27 and 35 cm. Note: the last buttonhole will be made on the row where sts are cast on for collar. Sleeve: Cast on 26-26-28-28-28 sts on smaller needles. Knit Pattern 3 one time, change to larger needles and stockinette st to finished measurements. When the piece measures 12 cm inc 1 st at each side every 7-5.5-5.5-4.5-3.5 cm a total of 6-7-7-8-9 times = 38-40-42-44-46 sts. When the sleeve measures 50-49-47-46-44 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-2-2-2-1 times and 1 st 1-2-3-3-6 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 58 cm. Bind off the remaining sts. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Collar: Put the 10 collar sts from left front on larger needles and knit as follows: * 2 rows garter st over all sts, 2 rows garter st over only the outermost 6 sts at the center front *, repeat from * - * until the collar measures approx. 5-5-5-6-6 cm farthest in, and measures approx. 10-10-10-12-12 cm at the outside. Put sts on a st holder. Repeat on right front. Sew the collar at center back and sew the collar to the neckband on the back. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. Sew on buttons. HAIR SCRUNCHY: Sizes: One size Materials: DROPS SNOW from Garnstudio 50 gr in optional color 2 DROPS 4 mm double-pointed needles, or size needed to obtain correct gauge. Gauge: 16 sts in stockinette st = 10 cm wide. Hair scrunchy: Cast on 5 sts on 1 double-pointed needle. Knit 1 row, * slide sts to right side of needle without turning work, pull yarn tight on back side and knit 1 row from same side as previous row *, repeat from * - *. You are making an I-cord tube – be sure to pull the yarn tight across the back when starting a new row so that the tube will be consistent. Bind off when tube measures 50 cm. Pull approx. 20 cm long piece of elastic through tube and knot ends together. Sew tube ends together with small sts. |
