Bon tricot!

Is it correct that these are knitted back and forth and then stiched together on the side when finished? Sorry for the darft question - I used knit mittens with 4 needles ages ago so this is something new. Thank you

Hi Ruth, The mittens are worked in the round with double pointed needles. Happy knitting!

Question about rows 8 & 10. The round begins and ends with a lavender stitch. Is this correct? That makes 2 lavender side by side that interrupts the 1 lavender, 2 white, 1 lavender. Is the pattern I downloaded the corrected one? "Updated online: 20.08.2009" New chart published.

Dear Lea, diagram is correct as it is now, there will be a small transition on these rounds but pattern will fit around on all other rounds. Happy knitting!

Tak for svaret.

Hei Lene.

PATTERN: See diagram M.1 and M.2. Diagrams show the pattern from RS. The entire pattern is worked in stocking st. -------------------------------------------------------- LEFT MITTEN: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 52 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm with off-white. K 1 round, and then work 4 rounds rib K1/ P1. Continue in M.1. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When you reach the 3 black squares in diagram (round 39) continue in M.2 on these 3 sts. Inc in M.2 with 1 YO inside 1 st each side, on next round K YO into back of loop to avoid a hole. After 5 inc (= 10 inc sts, and 13 sts for thumb gusset) work 4 rounds without inc (see M.2) and now slip the 13 thumb sts on a stitch holder. Cast on 3 new sts behind sts on stitch holder = 52 sts. Continue in the round in M.1. When dec at the top of M.1 dec each side of the off-white st each side with lavender. Dec as follows before the off-white st: K2 tog. Dec as follows after the off-white st: slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso. After all dec there are 12 sts left on needle, cut the threads, pull through remaining sts, tighten and fasten. THUMB: Slip the 13 thumb sts back on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and pick up 9 sts behind thumb = 22 sts. Continue in the round in M.2. Dec each side of the lavender st each side (dec with off-white). Dec as follows before the lavender st: K2 tog. Dec as follows after the lavender st: slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso. After all dec there are 6 sts left on needle, cut the threads, pull though remaining sts, tighten and fasten. RIGHT MITTEN: Cast on and work like left mitten, but mirrored, i.e. work the 3 black squares in diagram in st no 4, 5, and 6 from the right side of diagram. |
