Pattern: See diagram M.1 to M.5. Diagram shows the pattern from RS. Garter st, back and forth on needle: K all rows Decreasing tip (applies to neckline): Make all dec from RS inside 5 garter sts. NB! Because of the dec no of sts will not always fit M.5. K sts not fitting into pattern in stocking st. Dec as follows after 5 sts: slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso Dec as follows before 5 sts: K2 tog. Back piece: Cast on 133-143-153-163-183-203 sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4 mm. K 1 row from WS and continue as follows from RS: 1 edge st, M.1A (= 5 sts), M.1B on the next 120-130-140-150-170-190 sts, M.1C (= 6 sts), 1 edge st. Remember the knitting tension! Work 2 vertical repeats of M.1 and work next row as follows from RS: 1 edge st, M.2A (= 5 sts), M.2B on the next 120-130-140-150-170-190 sts, M.2C (= 6 sts), 1 edge st = 107-115-123-131-147-163 sts. K 1 row from WS and continue as follows from RS: 1 edge st, M.3A (= 4 sts) , M.3B on the next 96-104-112-120-136-152 sts, M.3C (= 5 sts), 1 edge st. P 1 row from WS and work next row as follows from RS: 1 edge st, M.5A (= 3 sts) , M.5B on the next 72-78-84-90-102-114 sts, M.5C (= 4 sts), 1 edge st. Continue in M.5 until piece measures approx 30-31-32-33-34-35 cm, adjust to a full of half pattern repeat. Work 2 rows garter st – see above, at the same time inc 9-12-14-19-19-20 sts on first row = 90-99-107-118-130-143 sts, then 2 rows stocking st and 2 rows garter st. Now continue in stocking st on all sts. When piece measures 40-42-44-46-48-50 cm inc 1 st each side and repeat the inc when piece measures 55-57-59-61-63-65 cm = 94-103-111-122-134-147 sts. When piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm work 2 rows garter st, 2 rows stocking st and 2 rows garter st, at the same time on the last row dec 5-6-8-9-11-14 sts evenly = 89-97-103-113-123-133 sts. Inset 1 Marking Thread (MT) each side to mark the armholes. Continue as follows from RS: 5 garter sts, 0-1-1-0-2-1 stocking sts, M.5A (= 3 sts), M.5B on the next 72-78-84-96-102-114 sts, M.5C (= 4 sts), 0-1-1-0-2-1 stocking sts, 5 garter sts. Continue in M.5 until piece measures 79-82-85-88-91-94 cm and now complete piece in garter st. When piece measures 80-83-86-89-92-95 cm cast off the middle 17-17-19-21-23-25 sts for neck and dec 1 st on neckline on next row = 35-39-41-45-49-53 sts left on each shoulder. Cast off loosely when piece measures 82-85-88-91-94-97 cm. Front piece: Cast on and work like back piece until piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm = 94-103-111-122-134-147 sts. Now work 2 rows garter st, 2 rows stocking st and 2 rows garter st, at the same time dec 4-5-7-8-10-13 sts evenly on last row = 90-98-104-114-124-134 sts. Put the first 45-49-52-57-62-67 sts on a thread and now complete each side separately. Insert 1 MT at side to mark the armhole. Right side: = 45-49-52-57-62-67 sts. Continue as follows from RS: 5 garter sts, M.5A (= 3 sts), M.5B on the next 24-30-30-36-42-48 sts, M.5C (= 4 sts), 4-2-5-4-3-2 stocking sts, 5 garter sts. Continue in M.5, at the same time dec 1 st to shape the neckline on every 1.5 cm a total of 10-10-11-12-13-14 times = 35-39-41-45-49-53 sts – see Decreasing tip! When piece measures 79-82-85-88-91-94 cm complete piece in garter sts. Cast off loosely when piece measures 82-85-88-91-94-97 cm. Left side: Work like right side, but mirrored. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side and seams inside 1 edge st up to MT/armhole. Pull the silk ribbon through the last row of stocking st and tie a bow at front. |
