Knitting tension: 23 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm with needle size 3.5 mm and stocking stitch. Remember needle size is only a guide! Ridge/Garter stitch (in the round): 1 ridge = 2 rounds: Knit 1 round and purl 1 round. Pattern: See diagrams M.1 to M.4. The whole of the pattern is worked in stocking stitch. --------------------------------------------------------- Body: The jacket is worked in the round with circular needle after the folding edge and is cut mid front and for armholes afterwards. Cast on 195-219-243-267-291 stitches (incl. 1 edge stitch in each side towards mid front) with circular needle size 2.5 mm and brown Camelia. Work 2 cm stocking stitch and 1 row purl, seen from the right side (= folding edge). The piece is now measured from here! Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm and work stocking stitch in the round - at the same time cast on 3 new stitches mid front (these 3 stitches + 2 edge stitches = 5 stitches to cut in afterwards and are not worked into pattern) = 198-222-246-270-294 stitches. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 9-10-11-12-13 cm, work M.2 and then M.3. At the same time, when piece measures 32-33-34-35-36 cm work next round as follows: 5 cutting stitches mid front, 43-45-48-50-52 stitches (= front piece), cast off 10-18-24-32-40 stitches for armhole, 87-91-97-101-105 stitches (= back piece), cast off 10-18-24-32-40 stitches for armhole, 43-45-48-50-52 stitches (= front piece). On the next round, cast on 5 new stitches over the cast off armhole- stitches in each side (these stitches are to cut in afterwards and are not worked into pattern) = 188-196-208-216-224 stitches. After M.3 continue with brown Camelia. Read the whole of the next section before continuing! Neck decreases in front: When piece measures 45-47-49-51-53 cm cast off 19-19-19-21-21 stitches (incl. 5 cutting stitches) mid front of neck = 169-177-189-195-203 stitches on needle. The piece is finished working back and forth on needle. Then decrease towards neck every 2nd row: 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 2 times and 1 stitch 4 times = 147-155-167-173-181 stitches left on needle. Pattern: At the same time, when piece measures 46-48-50-52-54 cm work M.4 - make sure the pattern is the same on both sides of mid front, then finish working with brown Camelia. Neck decreases at back: At the same time, when piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm cast off the middle 33-33-33-35-35 stitches at back for neck. Then decrease towards neck every 2nd row: 1 stitch 2 times. Cast off the remaining 55-59-65-67-71 stitches on each shoulder (incl. 5 cutting stitches for armholes) when piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Sleeve: Cast on 48-48-56-56-64 stitches with double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and green Silke-Tweed. Work 1 ridge, change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and work M.1 and M.2, then continue with brown Camelia. Read the while of the next section before continuing. When piece measures 9-9-8-8-8 cm increase 2 stitches mid under sleeve a total of 22-24-23-25-23 times, in: Size XS/S: Every 6th round. Sizes S/M and M/L: Alternately every 5th and 6th round. Sizes XL and XXL: Every 5th round = 92-96-102-106-110 stitches. At the same time, when piece measures 51 cm work M.4, then continue with brown Camelia to finished length. At the same time, when piece measures 55-53-52-50-48 cm divide the piece mid under sleeve and finish working back and forth on needle. When piece measures 57 cm, work stocking stitch with wrong side out (= lining). Cast off when lining measures 1.5 cm. Assembly: Tack 1 marker thread down the middle of the 5 cutting stitches mid front and in each side. Sew 2 machine seams on either side of the marker thread; first seam = 1/2 stitch from thread and second seam = 1/2 stitch from first seam. Cut between the seams mid front and for armholes. Sew shoulder seams. Neck: Knit up approx. 92 to 102 stitches around neck with circular needle size 2.5 mm and brown Camelia. Work neck as follows: Knit 1 row from wrong side, then 3 rows stocking stitch and knit 1 row from the wrong side (= folding row), continue with 3 rows stocking stitch (= lining), loosely cast off. Fold the neck double towards the wrong side and sew down. Left band: Knit up approx. 110 to 130 stitches along the left front piece with circular needle size 2.5 mm and brown Camelia and work in the same way as neck. Right band: Work as left. Then crochet 8 button loops on folded edge with hook size 3 mm and brown Camelia as follows (start at top): 2 double crochets, 3 chain stitches, skip 2 stitches and fasten with 1 double crochet, * work double crochets for approx. 5-5-5.5-5.5-6 cm, 3 chain stitches, skip 2 stitches and fasten with 1 double crochet in next stitch *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times. Turn piece, work 3 double crochets in each button loop and slip stitches between button loops. Crochet edges: Crochet around bottom of sleeves with light green Chenille and hook size 3 mm. Work around the cast-on edge as follows: Row 1: 1 double crochet in first stitch, * 3 chain stitches, skip 1 stitch, 1 double crochet in next stitch *, repeat from *-*. Row 2: Turn piece, work slip stitches to middle of first chain-space, * 3 chain stitches, 1 double crochet in first chain stitch (= 1 picot), 1 double crochet in next chain-space from previous row * , repeat from *-*, cut strand. More assembly: Sew in sleeves and fold lining on sleeve top over the cut edge on body and sew down. Fold edge at bottom of body to wrong side and sew down. Sew on buttons. |
