Knitting tip: If knitting tension is too tight the raglan will become too short and the armhole too small. This can be adjusted by working 1 extra round without decreases with regular intervals between decreases. Pattern: See diagram M.1. Diagrams are seen from RS. Garter st, in the round: K 1 round, P 1 round. Jumper: Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 208-224-240-264-288-312 sts on circular needle size 4 mm with Paris. K1 row, continue in rib K3/P5. When piece measures 3 cm dec 1 st in each P section and repeat the dec when piece measures 6 cm = 156-168-180-198-216-234 sts. Continue with K3 /P3. When piece measures 10 cm change to circular needle size 5 mm. K1 row, at the same time dec 6-6-3-3-3-6 sts evenly = 150-162-177-195-213-228 sts. Work M.1 on all sts. After 1 vertical repeat of M.1 continue in stocking st. Insert 2 marking threads or stitch markers in piece, 1 at beg of round, and 1 after 75-81-88-98-106-114 sts. Remember knitting tension! When piece measures 14 cm dec 1 st on each side of both marking threads (= 4 dec per round) on every 5 cm a total of 3 times = 138-150-165-183-201-216 sts. When piece measures 30 cm inc 1 st on each side of both marking threads (= 4 inc per round) on every 5-5.5-6-6.5-7-7.5 cm a total of 3 times = 150-162-177-195-213-228 sts. At the same time when piece measures 38-39-40-41-42-43 cm work 10 rows garter st – see explanation above. Now work M.1 on all sts (inc are now complete). After 1 vertical repeat of M.1 continue in stocking sts. When piece measures 45-46-47-48-49-50 cm cast off 8 sts each side for armhole (= 4 sts on each side of both marking threads) = 134-146-161-179-197-212 sts. Leave piece to one side. Sleeve: worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 56-56-56-64-64-64 sts on double pointed needles size 4 mm with Paris. K1 row and continue in rib K3/P5. When piece measures 3 cm dec 1 st in each P section and repeat the dec when piece measures 6 cm = 42-42-42-48-48-48 sts. Continue with K3/P3. When piece measures 10 cm change to double pointed needles size 5 mm. Work M.1 on all sts. After 1 vertical repeat of M.1 continue in stocking st, at the same time on 1st round dec 2-1-0-5-4-3 sts evenly = 40-41-42-43-44-45 sts. Now inc 2 sts mid under sleeve on every 3.5-3-2.5-2.5-2-2 cm a total of 10-11-12-13-14-15 times = 60-63-66-69-72-75 sts. At the same time when piece measures 40-40-40-40-39-39 cm work 10 rounds garter st. Now work M.1 on all sts (inc under arm are now complete). After 1 vertical repeat of M.1 continue in stocking st. When piece measures 47-47-47-47-46-46 cm cast off 8 sts mid under sleeve = 52-55-58-61-64-67 sts. Leave piece to one side. Knit the other sleeve. Yoke: Slip sleeves onto same circular needle as body where cast off for armholes = 238-256-277-301-325-346 sts. K1 round, at the same time dec 1 st = 237-255-276-300-324-345 sts. Continue as follows: Purl 5-5-6-6-7-8 rounds, work 1 vertical repeat of M.1, at the same time on last round of M.1 dec 51-57-63-69-78-84 sts evenly = 186-198-213-231-246-261 sts. Purl 5-6-6-7-7-8 rounds, work 1 vertical repeat of M.1, at the same time on last round of M.1 dec 51-57-63-69-78-84 sts evenly = 135-141-150-162-168-177 sts. Purl 5-6-6-7-8-8 rounds, work 1 vertical repeat of M.1, at the same time on last round of M.1 dec 51-57-63-69-78-84 sts evenly = 84-84-87-93-90-93 sts. Purl 6-6-7-7-8-8 rounds. Now work 4 rounds in garter st, at the same time dec 22-22-21-27-22-25 sts evenly on 1st round = 62-62-66-66-68-68 sts. Cast off loosely. Assembly: Sew openings under arms. |
