The instructions for the pattern are not right. There's a button band that is not described in the instructions. There is no M.3. There is no chart with decreases. The instructions for the last part of the body must be describing a different garment as the instructions given would not produce the garment pictured. I normally can guess my way through a Drops pattern but this one was a little too complicated with out proper instructions.

Dag Awj,

KNITTING TENSION: 20 stitches x 26 rows with pattern and needle size 4 mm = 10 x 10 cm = SHORT PATTERN: Reduce all the lengths by 8 (10) cm. Finished length = 58 (59) cm. This uses 50 g less yarn. RIB: * Knit 1, Purl 2 * BODY: The numbers in ( ) = men’s sizes. If you want a shorter pattern in the women’s sizes, see above. Cast on186-192 (198-204) stitches with circular needle size 2.5 mm and DROPS Muskat. Work 5 cm rib. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and increase 42-48 (42-60) stitches evenly on the first row = 228-240 (240-264) stitches. Work M.1 onwards. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION. When the piece measures 36-39 (35-37) cm divide the piece and finish the front and back pieces separately. FRONT PIECE: = 114-120 (120-132) stitches. When the piece measures 45-48 (44-46) cm cast off the middle 6 stitches for the split in the neck and finish each shoulder separately. When the piece measures 54-57 (53-55)cm work M.2 (above M.1). When the piece measures 58-61 (57-59) cm, cast off for the neck every 2nd row as follows: 10-11 (10-11) stitches 1 time, 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 2 times, 1 stitch 3 times. Cast off when M.2 is finished – the piece measures approx. 66-69 (65-67) cm. Work the other shoulder in the same way. BACK PIECE: = 114-120 (120-132) stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 64-67 (63-65) cm. Cast off the middle 44-46 (44-46) stitches for the neck and finish each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 stitch for the neck on the next row. Cast off when M.2 is finished. Work the other shoulder in the same way. SLEEVES: Cast on 45-48 (48-51) stitches with double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and DROPS Muskat. Work 5 cm rib in the round. Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm and work M.1 (position a repeat on top of the sleeve) at the same time as you increase 13-12 (10-9) stitches evenly on the first round = 58-60 (58-60) stitches. Increase 1 stitch on each side of the first stitch on the round (mid-under sleeve) 31-31 (32-31) times as follows: In the women’s sizes increase every 3rd round. In the men’s sizes increase alternately every 3rd and 4th round = 120-122 (122-122) stitches. When the piece measures 38-38 (43-41) cm, work M.2. When the piece measures 47-47 (52-50) cm cast off 6 stitches mid-under the sleeve and finish working back and forth. Cast off on each side, every 2nd row, 6 stitches 3 times. Cast off after M.2 – the sleeve measures approx. 50-50 (55-53) cm. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. Pick up approx. 30 stitches along the left front piece, using needle size 2.5 mm and DROPS Muskat. Work 3 cm rib back and forth. Repeat on the right front piece but after 1 cm work 2 buttonholes evenly spaced - 1 buttonhole = cast off 2 stitches and cast on 2 new stitches on the next row. Pick up approx. 108 stitches around the neck with needle size 2.5 mm. Work 2 cm rib back and forth. Cast off. Sew the sleeves to the body in the outermost stitch. Sew the buttons to the left band. Sew the bands to the both of the split. |
