I don\'t understand the response to row 3. Just to clarify row 3 starts above the X for one chain to turn and reading from right to left. Your solution states: 1dc, 1dc in first ch-space, then *5chains 1dc in next ch-space, 5chains, 5dc in next ch-space (my question here: how do I put these two instructions into one ch-space? This solution seems to differ from the diagram. Should this be just 1dc instead of 5dc?).

Dear Mary and yes, sorry for mistyping, it was supposed to be 1 dc instead of 5 dc (but note that this is using UK-Crochet terminology, not US - where you should here work sc instead of dc); so you should work instead on row 3 : 1 dc in first dc, 1 dc in first ch-space, then *5 chains, 1 dc in next ch-space, 5 chains, 1 dc in next ch-space, 5 chains, 1 dc in next ch-space, 5 chains, 1 dc in each of the next 2 ch-spaces*, repeat from *-* and finish with 5 chains, 1 dc in next ch-space, 5 chains, 1 dc in next ch-space, 5 chains, 1 dc in last ch-space - sorry for this. Happy crocheting!

I'm reading ahead to row 3 of pattern 29-5. I'm confused as to what happens after the third set of 5ch, 1dc. Then there are no ch between the next 2dc. Is this correct?
15.04.2026 - 18:08DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mary, on row 3 work: 1 dc in first dc, 1 dc in first ch-space, then *5 chains, 1 dc in next ch-space, 5 chains, 5 dc in next ch-space, 5 chains, 1 dc in each of the next 2 ch-spaces*, repeat from *-* and finish with 5 chains, 1 dc in next ch-space, 5 chains, 1 dc in next ch-space, 5 chains, 1 dc in last ch-space. So correct, you will have 2 dc next to each other (without chains between) between each repeat. Happy crocheting!

I'm trying to interpret row 2 of front piece. My understanding from the diagram is as follows: After row 1 is complete, there are 73dc in row 1. Begin Row 2, 1ch, 1dc into first dc of previous row, (skip next 2dc on previous row, 3ch and 1tr into next dc on previous row) repeat inside brackets to end of row. Please let me know if this is correct. Thank you
15.04.2026 - 17:24DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mary, on 2nd row you work only double crochets (Uk crochet terminology) between the 3 chain stitches -spaces, ie work (1 double crochet in first/next stitch, 3 chains, skip 2 sts) repeat from (to) and end with 1 double crochet in the last double crochet. Happy crocheting!

Hi, I'm interested in crocheting this pattern, but I'm new to crocheting. I can only find size M. Have I overlooked the other sizes somewhere on the pattern? I am interested in making the pattern in a Large. How would I go about figuring the dimensions and the extra stitches needed? Thank you in advance.

Pattern: See diagram. 1 rapport = 1 horizontal repeat Mønster = pattern Gjenta fra 3. p = repeat from row 3 Back piece: Crochet 145 ch on crochet hook size 3 mm and work pattern. Remember the crochet tension. When piece measures 40 cm (beg of the last vertical repeat), crochet only the 3 outermost horizontal repeats each side– do not crochet the 6 middle repeats = neckline. Piece now measures approx 43 cm. Front piece: Crochet 73 ch on crochet hook size 3 mm and work pattern. When 3 vertical pattern repeats remain (piece measures approx 33 cm) dec to shape the neckline as follows: In the first vertical repeat do not crochet the 2 horizontal repeats towards neckline, in the second repeat do not crochet the 1 repeat towards neckline (= 3 dec horizontal repeats). Crochet the last vertical repeat without dec. Sleeve: Crochet 73 ch on crochet hook size 3 mm and work pattern. When piece measures 29.5 cm cm (there are 4 repeats left to do in height), crochet 12 new ch each side (1 additional repeat each side), crochet 2 vertical repeats. Crochet 12 new ch each side and crochet 1 vertical repeat. Crochet 12 new ch each side (= 3 additional repeats, total = 12 repeats on row). Crochet the last vertical repeat, piece measures approx 43.5 cm. Assembly: Sew the shoulder seams. Crochet a row of dc on crochet hook size 2.5 mm as follows: approx 85 dc along right front piece, approx 48 dc along neckline on front piece, approx 76 dc along neckline on back piece and approx 85 dc along left front piece. Crochet next row as follows: * 3 ch, 1 tr in the first ch, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in next dc*, repeat from *-*. Crochet a row of tr round bottom edge and sleeve edges and crochet second row as described for front opening. Set in sleeves (armhole = approx 30 cm) and sew on buttons (used the second crochet row on front band as buttonholes). |
