Re: front piece, increases at 10 cm. Does "each side" mean you determine the place for the increases yourself? I did the previous increases (row 4) at 10 stitches in and 10 stitches before the end.

Dear Miguel, when you have to increase on each side, you should increase at the beginning + at the end of a row from right side = 2 sts increased on each of these increase rows. Happy knitting!

Knitting tension: Remember needle size is only a guide. 23 stitches x 30 rows with needle size 3.5 mm and stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm Rib: * K2, P1 *, repeat from *-*. Ridge/Garter stitch (back and forth on needle): 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows. Knitting tip: After decreasing for sleeves and neck, it can be helpful to work the outermost stitch in each side in garter stitch, so that the edge does not curl. ------------------------------------------------------ Front piece: Read Knitting tip! Loosely cast on 86-98-104-116-131 stitches (incl. 1 edge stitch in each side) with needle size 3.5 mm and Alpaca. Purl 1 row (from the wrong side), then work 2 rows rib with 1 edge stitch in each side. Continue with stocking stitch while, at the same time, adjusting the number of stitches to 88-98-106-118-132 stitches on first row after the rib. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 10 cm increase 1 stitch in each side every 8-8-9-9-10 cm a total of 3 times = 94-104-112-124-138 stitches. When piece measures 36-37-38-39-40 cm decrease for armholes in each side every 2nd row: 4 stitches 1 time, 3 stitches 1 time, 2 stitches 1-2-3-4-5 times and 1 stitch 3-5-6-9-13 times = 70-72-74-76-78 stitches - read Knitting tip above. When piece measures 40-42-43-44-46 cm cast off the middle 22-22-24-24-26 stitches for neck. Then decrease on each side of the neck every 2nd row: 2 stitches 3 times and 1 stitch 5 times = 13-14-14-15-15 stitches left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Back piece: Cast on and work as for front piece. Decrease for armholes as for front piece = 70-72-74-76-78 stitches and continue working until piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm. Now cast off the middle 40-40-42-42-44 stitches for neck. Then decrease on each side of neck every 2nd row: 1 stitch 2 times = 13-14-14-15-15 stitches left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams inside the 1 edge stitch. Neck: Crochet an edge around the armholes and neck with hook size 3 mm and Alpaca as follows: 1 double crochet in the first stitch, * 3 chain stitches, skip approx. 0.5 cm, 1 double crochet in next stitch *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at beginning of round - NOTE: Make sure the chain-spaces are not worked too tightly, as the armholes and neck will then stretch. Silk ribbon: Tie the ribbon twice around your waist and tie at back. Flower for neck: The flower is first worked with 3 petals, on the next round there will be 5 petals, then 6 and finally 8 petals on the last round. Work 4 chain stitches with hook size 4.5 mm and 2 strands Alpaca and form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch. Round 1: * 1 double crochet around ring, 3 chain stitches,* repeat from *-* a total of 3 times and finish with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at beginning of round = 3 chain-spaces. Round 2: Work as follows in each chain-space: 1 slip stitch, 5 treble crochets and 1 slip stitch = 3 petals. Turn piece - the next round is worked from back of flower. Round 3: 1 chain stitch, work 1 double crochet around the first double crochet from round 1, 3 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at bottom of 4th treble crochet in first petal on round 2, then 3 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at bottom of first treble crochet in second petal from round 2, then 3 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at bottom of 5th treble crochet in second petal from round 2, then 3 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at bottom of 2nd treble crochet in third petal from round 2, then 3 chain stitches and finish with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch at beginning of round = 5 chain-spaces. Turn piece - next round is worked from front of flower. Round 4: Work as follows in each chain-space: 1 slip stitch, 6 treble crochets and 1 slip stitch = 5 petals. Turn piece - the next round is worked from back of flower. Round 5: 1 chain stitch, work 1 double crochet around the first double crochet from round 3, 3 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at the bottom of the 5th treble crochet in the first petal from round 4, then 3 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at bottom of 4th treble crochet in the second petal from round 4, then 3 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at the bottom of the 3rd treble crochet in the third petal from round 4, then 3 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at the bottom of the 2nd treble crochet in the fourth petal from round 4, then 3 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at the bottom of the first treble crochet in the fifth petal from round 4, then 3 chain stitches and finish with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch at beginning of round = 6 chain-spaces. Turn piece - next round is worked from front of flower. Round 6: Work as follows in each chain-space: 1 slip stitch, 6 treble crochets and 1 slip stitch = 6 petals. Turn piece - next round is worked from back of flower. Round 7: 1 chain stitch, work 1 double crochet around the first double crochet from round 5, 4 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at bottom of the 4th treble crochet in the first petal from round 6, then 4 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at bottom of the 3rd treble crochet in the second petal from round 6, then 4 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at bottom of first treble crochet in the third petal from round 6, then 4 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at bottom of the 6th treble crochet in the third petal from round 6, then 4 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at the bottom of the 5th treble crochet in the fourth petal from round 6, then 4 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at the bottom of the 3rd treble crochet in the fifth petal from round 6, then 4 chain stitches, work 1 double crochet at the bottom of the 2nd treble crochet in the sixth petal from round 6, then 4 chain stitches and finish with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch at beginning of round = 8 chain-spaces. Turn piece - the next round is worked from the front of the flower. Round 8. Work as follows in each chain-space: 1 slip stitch, 6 treble crochets and 1 slip stitch = 8 petals. Cut and fasten the strands. Silk ribbon: Thread the ribbon through 2 stitches at back of flower so the rose sits well on the ribbon. Tie the ribbon around your neck as a necklace. |
