Pattern as-072 I do not understand row 5 of this pattern. It is an 8 stitch repeat but this row creates 9 stitches. This is my first attempt at using a diagram and have written it out in my regular format. I am using brushed alpaca silk which is impossible to undo.

Dear Gillian, you have 2 increases and 2 decreases, so you will end up with 9 stitches. You work: slip 1, knit 2 together and pass slipped stitch over stitches knitted together (= 2 decreases), 1 yarn over (= 1 increase), knit 5, 1 yarn over (= 1 increase). So the 2 decreases and the 2 increases cancel each other out and you have the same amount of stitches. Happy knitting!

08.01.2019 - 11:00DROPS Design answered:
Hei Joan.

Buon lavoro!

Dear Garnstudio, Thank you very much for this pattern. I have never knitted in the round before and I'm not sure how should I knit the wrong side (during A.1 part). Should I purl all the stitches or knit them? Thank you very much! Vivien
01.01.2018 - 23:58DROPS Design answered:
Dear Vivien, you should purl them. In fact when working in the round you are all the time on the right side. Happy knitting!

Repeat A.1 vertically until piece measures approx. 37 cm - adjust to finish with a whole repetition vertically of A.1. Then work 2 ridges, cast off - READ CAST-OFF TIP. ---------------------------------------------------------- WRIST WARMER: Worked in the round.
