DROPS 133-19 |

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. DOUBLE THREAD TIP: Use thread from both inside and outside of the ball. When switching to a new ball, try to avoid switching the 2 threads at the same time - to avoid a thick thread when fastening. --------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked back and forth on needle. The whole piece is worked in garter st, i.e. K all rows. Cast on 99 sts on needle size 4 mm with 2 threads blue purple Baby Alpaca Silk. Work for 5.5 cm. Switch to 1 thread blue purple and 1 thread off white and continue until piece measures approx. 15 cm. * On next row, dec 9 sts evenly. Work 1 row. On next row, dec 9 sts evenly. Work 2 cm *, repeat from *-* a total of 5 times = 9 sts. Cut the thread, pull it through the remaining sts twice, tighten tog and fasten tightly. ASSEMBLY: Sew side seam in front loop of outermost st. Make 2 small pompoms - 1 blue purple and 1 off white - and fasten them to the side of the hat. NECK WARMER: Worked back and forth on circular needle to make room for all the sts. Cast on 280 sts on circular needle size 4 mm with 3 threads blue purple Baby Alpaca Silk - see DOUBLE THREAD TIP. Cut 1 thread and work 6 rows in GARTER ST with 2 threads blue purple - see explanation above. Switch to 1 thread blue purple and 1 thread off white and continue in garter st until piece measures approx. 33 cm. Switch back to 2 threads blue purple and work 6 rows in garter st. Cast off with 3 threads blue purple. ASSEMBLY: Sew side seam in front loop of outermost st to avoid a chunky seam. |
