In response to Mariya (below): I think you are correct in that the intention is not to add stitches, so you are slipping off the needle, in effect ‘dropping’ the second yo. On your second point, the rows are 8+22+64+22+8=124, because you are decreasing/increasing every other row 11 times, including the return rows, so 22 not 21. Hopefully you managed to finish your project successfully 😊

Also, by my count the number of rows in the pattern (8+21+64+21+8=122) and the number of rows in 4 repeats of M1 (30x4=120) is off by 2 rows. I will just knit 62 rows in the "middle" instead of 64, but I was wondering if maybe I am "missing" something.

I believe that the diagram instructions for the double yo should say, "double yo between 2 sts. On return row K 1 yo and drop the other", not "slip the other", otherwise the stitches keep being added. I just had to unravel almost half of a sock due not catching that mistake right away, as I am a relatively new knitter.

Caroline!

Takk for svar:)

Garter st, back and forth on needle: K all rows. Knitting tip: When turning mid row, slip 1 st as if to K, tighten thread and work return row (to avoid a hole in transition). Pattern: See diagram M.1. Diagram is seen from the RS. Note! You work shortened rows in M.1 twice. Only work the first 9-9-10 sts on row, turn the piece and work return row. The shortened rows in pattern are not included in the total no of rows. Assembly tip: The top of the toe is tighten tog. Therefore insert a thread in the outer loop of the outermost st when working the toe and let this thread follow the piece. Use this thread to tighten the top. Sock: Knitted back and forth on needle from mid under foot, work over the top of foot and finish mid under foot. The sock is worked in garter st – see above – with lace pattern at one side, see M.1 and diagram for appropriate size. Beg at arrow. Work a total of 4 vertical repeats (½ + 3 full + ½) of M.1. Toe: Work shortened rows on every 3rd and 4th row, i.e. do not work all sts, but turn mid row when 11-13-15 sts left on row – see Knitting tip! Loosely cast on 110-120-130 sts on needle size 2.5 mm. Work M.1 from arrow, work remaining sts in garter st – remember shortened rows on toe. Work 8 rows. Remember the knitting tension! Now dec for heel as follows: Insert 1 Marking Thread (MT)after 58-63-69 sts. Dec 1 st on both sides of MT on every other row a total of 11 times = 88-98-108 sts. Work 48-48-64 rows garter st (= approx 9-9-12 cm). Now inc for heel as follows: Insert 1 Marking Thread (MT) after 47-52-58 sts. Inc 1 st on both sides of MT on every other row a total of 11 times = 110-120-130 sts. Work 8 rows (= 4 vertical repeats of M.1). Put all sts on a thread. Assembly: Sew tog sts from thread with sts from casting on row. The seam will sit mid under foot and up along back of leg. Knit another sock. |
