HeiJoph. Stemmer strikkefastheten din i høyden?

I bought my yarn to make this hat and it has just arrived. The alpaca is a good off white but the kid silk is colour No. 38 - Chalk. It is really a soft grey colour, not at all like the off white I thought I saw in the colour chart . I should have ordered colour No 01. Is there an easy way to return it and exchange for a better colour. I would like the hat to be really white.

Bon tricot!

Hello. "Work in stockinette stitch without increases until piece measures 8-8-9 cm = 3 1/8"-3 1/8"-3 1/2" from marker for measurement.'" Does it mean 8 cm from the first marker for measure BEFORE increasing stitches or just right after I finish increase and start stockinette stitches on 168-176-184 stitches? Thank you!
10.02.2022 - 10:36DROPS Design answered:
Dear Rena, you should measure these -8-9 cm = 3 1/8"-3 1/8"-3 1/2" from marker added after the folded edge to measure from, ie from where you start to work with needle size 3 MM/US2.5. Happy knitting!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- INCREASE TIP: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over. On next round knit yarn over twisted to avoid holes. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch by knitting 2 together after marker. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Worked in the round on a short circular needle, bottom up. Switch to double pointed needles when decreasing. HAT: Cast on 112-120-128 stitches on short circular needle size 3 mm with 1 strand colour light nougat DROPS Alpaca and 1 strand colour off white DROPS Kid-Silk (= 2 strands). Switch to a short circular needle size 2.5 mm and work in stocking stitch in the round for 2 cm, purl 1 round (= folding edge), and then work in stocking stitch in the round for 2 cm. Switch to a short circular needle size 3 mm. Insert 1 marker on round– now measure piece from this marker! Work 1 round in stocking stitch. On next round insert 8 new markers in the piece as explained below. Use these markers when increasing and decreasing in piece. The markers should be in a different colour than marker for measurement. Insert first marker at the beginning of round, then insert the next 7 markers 14-15-16 stitches apart. Work in stocking stitch in the round, and increase at the same time 1 stitch after every marker - read INCREASE TIP-1(= 8 stitches increased). Increase like this every other round 7 times in total vertically = 168-176-184 stitches. Work in stocking stitch without increases until piece measures 8-8-9 cm from marker for measurement. On next round begin decreases - decrease 1 stitch after every marker - read DECREASE TIP (= 8 stitches decreased). Decrease like this every other round 20-21-22 times in total = 8 stitches remain. On next round decrease 3 stitches evenly = 5 stitches remain. Hat measures approx. 22-23-25 cm from top and down to marker. Work the top of hat as follows: Use 2 double pointed needles size 3 mm. Slip the 5 stitches on one double pointed needle and work with the other one. * Knit 5, move stitches to the front of needle again, tighten yarn *, work from *-* until the top itself measures approx. 2 cm. Cut the yarn and pull yarn through the 5 stitches, tighten together and fasten. ASSEMBLY: Fold the edge at the bottom of hat double towards wrong side and fasten, but leave a small opening to thread elastic through - make sure that to avoid a tight seam. Thread elastic and adjust the length. Sew shut opening in folding edge. |
