Am I right in thinking "7dc round ch" (In rows 2 4 6 & 7)means 7dc's IN chain space of previous row?
12.08.2014 - 13:39DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Reeves, you crochet the 7dc in ch-loop, i.e. not in the ch but around the whole ch (it makes a small hole). Happy crocheting!

Why does the online pattern read sc but the printed version read dc?

Dear Mrs Taylor, please note that there are some differences in crochet terminology between UK English and US English. See here. Happy crocheting!

Could you explain me how to do "7 dc round ch"? I'm new and I couldn't find any tutorial or explanation anywhere. Thanks!
28.02.2013 - 04:20DROPS Design answered:
Dear Anne, on rows 2, 4, 6 (and 7 in larger sizes), you have to crochet 7 dc around the ch from previous row in the middle of the row (where you worked 2 sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc, 2 sc in next sc). Happy crocheting!

I see you are supposed to ch 1 in the beginning sc rows until it reaches 7cm but do you ch1 after every row after that or no??
12.12.2012 - 22:29DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Jonusas, you start each sc row with ch 1 (this ch doesn't count as the first sc). Happy crocheting!

CROCHET TOG OF DC: Crochet 2 dc tog as follows: Insert hook in first st, pick up thread, insert hook in next st, pick up thread, make a YO and pull thread through all 3 sts on hook. -------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPER: Worked back and forth from top down. Crochet 22-26-26 loose ch with crochet hook size 8 mm with Snow. Crochet 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, then 1 dc in each ch to end = 21-25-25 dc. Continue back and forth with 1 dc in each dc - NOTE: Work 1 ch at beg of each row before working 1 dc in each dc, this ch do NOT replace the first dc but is additional to no of sts. When piece measures approx 7-7-8 cm continue as follows: ROW 1: 2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in each of the next 8-10-10 dc, 2 dc in next dc, 1 ch, skip next dc, 2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of the next 8-10-10 dc and 2 dc in last dc, turn piece. ROW 2: 1 dc in each of the first 12-14-14 dc, 7 tr round ch and 1 dc in each of the last 12-14-14 dc = 31-35-35 sts, turn piece. ROW 3: 2 dc in first st, 1 dc in each of the next 13-15-15 sts, 2 dc in next st, 1 ch, skip next st, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 13-15-15 sts and 2 dc in last st, turn piece. ROW 4: 1 dc in each of the first 17-19-19 dc, 7 tr round ch and 1 dc in each of the last 17-19-19 dc = 41-45-45 sts, turn piece. ROW 5: 2 dc in first st, 1 dc in each of the next 18-20-20 sts, 2 dc in next st, 1 ch, skip the next st, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 18-20-20 sts and 2 dc in last st, turn piece. ROW 6: 1 dc in each of the first 22-24-24 dc, 7 tr round ch and 1 dc in each of the last 22-24-24 dc = 51-55-55 sts, turn piece. SIZE 35/37 and 38/40 finish here. SIZE 41/43: ROW 7: 1 dc in each of the first 27 sts, 1 ch, skip next st and crochet 1 dc in each of the next 27 sts, turn piece. ROW 8: 1 dc in each of the first 27 dc, 7 tr round ch and 1 dc in each of the last 27 dc = 61 sts, turn piece. ALL SIZES: After the last inc there are 51-55-61 sts on row. Continue back and forth with 1 st in each st until 1 row remain before piece measures 17-18-19 cm (measured down along one side from the top). Now work tog the first 2 dc and work tog the last 2 dc on row – SEE ABOVE (crochet remaining dc as before) = 49-53-59 dc. Cut and fasten thread. ASSEMBLY: Beg under foot by the toes. Sew tog edge to edge in outer loops of sts to avoid a chunky seam mid under foot and up along the heel to mid back on leg. Cut and fasten thread. Make 2 slippers. |
