Feedback (end) - A bit confusing to use the dc symbol instead of the tr symbol in the diagram. - I could only crochet three vertical fans in border (no more yarn). Thanks for the pattern. Nice and warm socks.

Feedback 2 - The link to the heel crochet sock video should be in the heel decreases section. - In the leg section "finish with 9 tr in next sc, skip 3 dc " should be skip 3 sc - In the pattern diagram, "in 5th dc/tr from fan 2 rows" should only be 5th tr.

Just to give you some feedback about this pattern for a 38-40 EU socks with a 2.5 mm crochet (to comply with the gauge as I crochet tight). - I started the sock with foundations double crochets instead of a chain. At the first round of the leg, I did double crochets instead of single crochets. For the rest of the leg, when chaining, I used a 3.5 mm hook. Otherwise the sock was not stretchy enough and I could not put the sock on. I had to undo entirely one sock.

I did something different as I couldn't understand the explanations. I found the video after. Maybe the video link should be in the heel decreases tips section. Thanks a lot for your help and for the beautiful crochet patterns.

Carine, you work like this a total of 10 times: Crochet 13-13-15 sc, dec 1 sc, turn piece. Have you tried watching the video linked from the pattern?

Like Riley, I do not understand the heel decreases. I think you, Drops Design, who design these socks are the best to reply and not the shop where we bought your yarn. Please, read again the heel decreases and the after heel decreases and tell us there is no mistake. Thanks a lot for your help.

DECREASING TIP: Dec 1 st as follows: Crochet 1 dc/tr but wait with last pull-through (= 2 sts on hook), work next dc/tr and when doing the last pull-through pull thread through all sts on hook – 1 dec st. CROCHET TIP: Replace first dc on round with 1 ch. Replace first tr on round with 3 ch. Finish each round with 1 sl st. On heel turn each row with 1 ch. HEEL DECREASES: ROW 1 (= RS): Crochet 19-20-22 dc, 7-8-8 dc now remain on row, dec 1 dc – SEE DECREASING TIP = 20-21-23 dc, turn piece. ROW 2 (= WS): Crochet 13-13-15 dc, 7-8-8 dc now remain on row, dec 1 dc = 14-14-16 dc, turn piece. ROW 3 (= RS): Crochet 13-13-15 dc, dec 1 dc, turn piece. Repeat row 3 a total of 10-12-12 times, i.e. until all sts on each side of the middle 14-14-16 have been dec. -------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------- SOCK: Crochet in the round. Crochet 75-80-85 ch with crochet hook size 2 mm and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. Round 1: 3 ch, then 1 tr in each of the next 3 ch, skip 1 ch, * 1 tr in each of the next 4 ch, skip 1 ch *, repeat from *-*, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 60-64-68 tr. Crochet 2 rounds with 1 tr in each tr – SEE CROCHET TIP! Now crochet dc back and forth on the first 26-28-30 tr on round for heel. Continue until heel measures approx 5-5.5-6 cm. Insert a marker – NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE! Now dec for heel – see HEEL DECREASES. After heel dec continue as follows: 1 tr in each of the 14-14-16 dc on heel, 14-15-16 tr along the side of heel, 1 tr in each of the 34-36-38 tr on upper foot and 14-15-16 tr along the other side of heel = 76-80-86 tr on round. Insert a marker each side of the 34-36-38 tr on upper foot. Continue in the round with tr, AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 tr each side of the 34-36-38 tr on upper foot – SEE DECREASING TIP, and repeat the dec on every round a total of 10-10-11 times = 56-60-64 tr. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Continue until piece measures 19-20.5-23 cm from marker on heel (= approx 3-3.5-4 cm remain). Insert a marker each side with 28-30-32 tr on upper foot and under foot. Continue as follows: 1 round with 1 dc in each tr, then 1 dc in each dc, AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 dc each side of both markers – SEE DECREASING TIP, and repeat the dec on every round a total of 10-11-12 times = 16 dc left. On next round crochet 2 dc tog all the way round. Cut the thread, pull through remaining 8 dc, tighten and fasten. LEG: Beg mid back on leg and crochet 64-64-72 dc in the round. Crochet next round as follows: 1 dc in first dc, skip 3 dc, * 9 dtr in next dc, skip 3 dc, 1 dc in next dc, skip 3 dc *, repeat from *-* 7-7-8 times, finish with 9 dtr in next dc, skip 3 tr and 1 sl st in dc from beg of round. Continue as follows: M.1A 1 time, then M.1B 7-7-8 times, finish with 1 sl st as shown in diagram. Continue like this until you have 5 vertical fans in border. Cut and fasten thread. |
