BUTTONHOLES: Make buttonholes on right front band. 1 BUTTONHOLE = K tog 3rd and 4th st from mid front and make 1 YO. Make buttonholes when piece measures: SIZE S: 4, 13, 22, 31, 40, 49, and 58 cm. SIZE M: 4, 14, 23, 33, 42, 51, and 60 cm. SIZE L: 4, 12, 21, 29, 37, 45, 54, and 62 cm. SIZE XL: 4, 13, 21, 30, 38, 47, 55, and 64 cm. SIZE XXL: 4, 13, 22, 30, 39, 48, 57 and 66 cm. SIZE XXXL: 4, 14, 23, 32, 41, 50, 59 and 68 cm. INCREASING TIP (apply to sleeve): Inc 1 st each side of the 2 K sts mid under sleeve. Inc by picking up st from previous round. Incorporate inc sts in K2/P2 as you go along. After first inc = K4 mid under sleeve. After second inc = K6 mid under sleeve. After third inc = K2, P1, K2, P1, K2. After fourth inc = K2, P2, K2, P2, K2. Repeat the 4 increases. ---------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------- BODY PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 236-256-276-296-326-356 sts (includes 6 front band sts each side towards mid front) on circular needle size 3.5 mm with light brown mix. Continue as follows (first row = RS): 6 front band sts in GARTER ST – see above, M.1 on 220-240-260-280-310-340 sts, P1, K2, P1 and 6 front band sts in garter st. Continue like this, AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 4 cm make BUTTONHOLES on right front band – see above! When piece measures approx 42-43-44-45-46-47 cm (adjust so that next row is from RS) K2 tog on all sts on all cables = 192-208-224-240-264-288 sts. Work next row as follows from WS: 6 sts garter st, P 40-44-48-52-58-64 sts, cast off 10 sts (= armhole), P 80-88-96-104-116-128 sts, cast off 10 sts (= armhole), P 40-44-48-52-58-64 sts and 6 garter sts = 172-188-204-220-244-268 sts on round. Put piece aside and knit the sleeves. SLEEVE: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 60-60-60-70-70-70 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm with light brown mix. Work M.1 – insert a marker between the first 2 K sts (= mid under sleeve). When piece measures 12 cm inc 2 sts mid under sleeve – SEE INCREASING TIP! Repeat the inc on every 8-8-6-8-6-6 round a total of 12-12-16-12-16-16 times = 84-84-92-94-102-102 sts. When piece measures 48 cm K2 tog on all sts on all cables = 72-72-80-80-88-88 sts. On next round cast off 10 sts mid under arm = 62-62-70-70-78-78 sts left on round. Put piece aside and knit the other sleeve. YOKE: Slip sleeves on the same circular needle as body pieces where cast off for armholes = 296-312-344-360-400-424 sts. Work 2-4-8-2-4-8 rows stocking st with light brown mix, AT THE SAME TIME on first row dec 7-11-7-11-15-15 sts evenly (do not dec on front bands) = 289-301-337-349-385-409 sts. Now slip the 6 front band sts each side on a stitch holder and cast on 1 new edge st each side (for sewing on front band afterwards) = 279-291-327-339-375-399 sts. Continue in M.2 (see diagram for your size – first row = RS) with 1 edge st in garter st each side towards mid front = 23-24-27-28-31-33 repeats of M.2 across the row (work the st before the edge st on left side of piece as the first st in M.2 so that the pattern is identical each side of mid front). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! After M.2 there are 95-99-111-115-127-135 sts on row and piece measures approx 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm up to the shoulder. Now work shortened rows mid back in off-white stocking st as follows: Work 58-60-65-68-74-78 sts, turn piece, work 20 sts, turn piece, work 30 sts, turn piece, work 40 sts. Continue like this by working 10 more sts before each turn until you have work shortened rows on a total of 80-80-100-100-120-120 sts. Now work 1 row on all sts, AT THE SAME TIME dec evenly to 70-70-80-80-90-90 sts. Leave sts on needle and cut the thread. LEFT FRONT BAND: Slip the 6 sts from stitch holder on left front band back on needle. Work garter st back and forth until front band nearly fits front piece up to neckline – slip sts back on stitch holder. Place the first front band st over edge st on front piece and sew tog - stretch front band slightly. RIGHT FRONT BAND: Like left front band – NOTE: Remember buttonholes. COLLAR: Work all sts in on circular needle size 3.5 mm - NOTE: K tog edge st on body piece with the first st on front band each side = 80-80-90-90-100-100 sts. Work garter st with light brown mix back and forth on needle, AT THE SAME TIME when collar measures 6 cm slip sts on a stitch holder each side at the end of every row: 1 st 4 times and 2 sts 2 times. Now slip all sts back on needle and cast off loosely. ASSEMBLY: Sew on buttons. Sew openings under arms. |
