------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. The diagram shows all rows from the right side. NOTE: When there are too few stitches to increase and decrease in the lace pattern, work stocking stitch across these stitches until they are gone. 2 STITCHES I-CORD: BEGINNING OF ROW: Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the strand in front, knit 1. END OF ROW: Slip 1 stitch purl-wise with the strand in front, knit 1. Work in the same way from both the right and wrong side. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- TOP - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round, bottom up as far as the armholes, then divided and the front and back pieces are finished separately, back and forth. The straps on the front piece are sewn to the cast-off edge on the back piece. If there is a «0» in your chosen size, skip the information and go straight to the next instruction. BODY: Cast on 238-252-280-308-336-364-406 stitches with circular needle size 3 mm and DROPS Safran. The body is worked in the round with PATTERN – see explanation above, as follows: Insert 1 marker-thread at the beginning of the round, work A.1 (7 stitches) 34-36-40-44-48-52-58 times on the round. Remember to maintain the knitting tension. Work until the piece measures 26-28-29-30-31-32-33 cm, with the last round either round 1 or 3 in A.1. On the next round cast off for the armholes as follows: Cast off 0-7-7-7-21-21-28 stitches (0-1-1-1-3-3-4 repeats of A.1 cast off under the sleeve), work the next 119-119-133-147-147-161-175 stitches in pattern as before (17-17-19-21-21-23-25 repeats of A.1 for the front piece), cast off 0-7-7-7-21-21-28 stitches (0-1-1-1-3-3-4 repeats of A.1 cast off under the sleeve), work the next 119-119-133-147-147-161-175 stitches in pattern as before (17-17-19-21-21-23-25 reports of A.1 for the back piece). The front and back pieces are finished separately, back and forth. BACK PIECE: = 119-119-133-147-147-161-175 stitches. Work the first row from the wrong side as follows: Purl 2, purl 2 together, continue the pattern until there are 4 stitches left (remember the explanation under PATTERN when decreasing), purl 2 twisted together and work 2 STITCHES I-CORD – read explanation above, (2 stitches decreased) = 117-117-131-145-145-159-173 stitches. Work as follows decreasing from both the right and wrong side: ROW 1 (right side): Work 2 stitches I-cord, slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, continue the pattern until there are 4 stitches left, knit 2 together and work 2 stitches I-cord (2 stitches decreased). ROW 2 (wrong side): Work 2 stitches I-cord, purl 2 together, continue the pattern until there are 4 stitches left, purl 2 twisted together, work 2 stitches I-cord (2 stitches decreased). Work ROWS 1 and 2 a total of 5-5-10-8-6-11-10 times (10-10-20-16-12-22-20 rows) = 97-97-91-113-121-115-133 stitches. Now only decrease from the right side as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Work 2 stitches I-cord, slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, continue the pattern until there are 4 stitches left, knit 2 together and work 2 stitches I-cord (2 stitches decreased). ROW 2 (wrong side): Work 2 stitches I-cord, purl 1, continue the pattern until there are 3 stitches left, purl 1 and work 2 stitches I-cord. Work ROWS 1 and 2 a total of 14-14-11-15-19-16-18 times (28-28-22-30-38-32-36 rows) = 69-69-69-83-83-83-97 stitches. Continue the pattern and I-cord, without further decreases until the piece measures 38-40-42-44-46-48-50 cm from the cast-on edge. Cast off. FRONT PIECE: = 119-119-133-147-147-161-175 stitches. The mid-stitch on the front piece is the mid-stitch in A.1. Work the first row from the wrong side as follows: Purl 2, purl 2 together, continue the pattern across the next 53-53-60-67-67-74-81 stitches, place the next 2 stitches on a cable needle held at the back of the piece, purl 2, purl 2 stitches in the next stitch (working through both the front and back loops = 1 increased stitch), purl the 2 stitches from the cable needle, continue the pattern until there are 4 stitches left, purl 2 twisted together, work 2 stitches I-cord = 118-118-132-146-146-160-174 stitches. Place the other 59-59-66-73-73-80-87 stitches on a stitch holder (= right front piece). Working the following 2 rows 0-0-4-0-0-4-2 times, you decrease for the V-neck from the right side and for the armhole from both the right and wrong side: i.e., in sizes M, XXL and XXXL work as follows: ROW 1 (right side): Work 2 stitches I-cord, slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, continue the pattern until there are 4 stitches left, knit 2 together, work 2 stitches I-cord (2 stitches decreased).
