“Bind off the center then knit the rest back and forth” does that mean to stop knitting in the round and every other row we will have to purl instead of knit?
11.02.2025 - 22:12DROPS Design answered:
Hi Luhaib, Yes, you no longer work in the round, but back and forth from one side of the neckline around the back and to the other side of the neckline. When working stocking stitch, every row from the wrong side will be purled. Remember to then cast off stitches equally on each side of the neckline. Happy crafting!

The hem is done in garter stitch. Why does it curl up? And how can I correct it now my work is half done?
03.02.2025 - 18:37DROPS Design answered:
Dear Luhaib, you can block garment afterwards, just spray some water and lay piece dry flat, hem shouldn't curl it up again. Happy knitting!

The finished measurements mentioned are they the bust measurements?
27.01.2025 - 21:40DROPS Design answered:
Hi Luhaib, The finished measurements are the length of the jumper. There is a measurements chart at the bottom of the pattern, with all the measurements for the different sizes. Happy knitting!

I really love to knit this sweater but I am not familiar with the method of steering or knitting from bottom up. Can I knit this pattern top down?
14.01.2025 - 11:30DROPS Design answered:
It is always a possibility but at your own risk as you will have to invert the charts, the decreasing into increasing and vice-versa. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Hello! How do you knit patterns 3 and 4? I can't make sense of how they work, I'm knitting a size medium and if I start at the M arrow and then continue with the chart it does not seem to add up to create the correct pattern.
27.08.2023 - 22:50DROPS Design answered:
Dear Julie, you start working in the arrow indicated with M towards the left. Then start not from the arrow, but from the very beginning of the charts (the rightmost stitch on the chart) and work full repeats of the row of M.3/ M.4 as needed in the pattern. Happy knitting!

I know I can replace the discontinued Silke-Tweed but it is the colors that I would wish to get as similar as possible. So, which replaceable yarns would you recommend for the 6 colors? (because even in the Alpaca, some colors seem to be unavailable). Thank you in advance.
17.07.2023 - 01:00DROPS Design answered:
Dear Therese, of Alpaca colours, you still have 3900- tomato and 3620 - red For 2921 - pink, we suggest you substitute for 3770- raspberry rose. For the Silke-tweed colours we recommend: 2923 for gold, 7238 for green and 3650 for rust. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Gauge: 23 x 30 rows on larger needles in pattern = 10 x 10 cm . Pattern: See charts. (1 chart = 1 repeat). The pattern is seen from the right side and is knit entirely in stockinette stitch. The charts for Patterns 3 and 4 have arrows indicating the starting point for different sizes. Pattern 6: * 3 rows green Silke-Tweed, 1 row red Alpaca*, repeat from * - *. Garter Stitch, when knitting in the round: *Rnd 1, knit. Rnd 2, purl *. Repeat from * - *. BODY The sweater is knit in the round with steeks for armholes. Cast on 264 (276-288) sts on smaller circular needles with red Alpaca; join and place a marker at the join. Knit garter st for 2 cm . Change to larger circular needles and knit Pattern 1. When the work measures 10 (11-12) cm , establish pattern as follows: Pattern 2, Pattern 3, Pattern 2, Pattern 4, Pattern 2, Pattern 3, Pattern 5 (start Pattern 3 and Pattern 4 at the appropriate arrows) = 132 (138-144) sts for the front, start at the arrow again and establish pattern across the back as on the front = 132 (138-144) sts). When the work measures 26 (27-27) cm , increase 5 sts each side for armholes (these sts are for the steeks and are not knit into the pattern). When the work measures 47 (48-49) cm , bind off the center front 30 (32-34) sts for the neck and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Bind off at each neck edge every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 3 times. At the same time, when the work measures 51 (52-53) cm , bind off the center 42 (44-46) sts in the back for the neck. Then bind off 2 sts at each back neck edge on the next row. Bind off after Pattern 5; the work measures approx. 53 (54-55) cm . Sleeves: Cast on 56 (58-58) sts on smaller double pointed needles with red Alpaca; join and place a marker at the join. Knit garter st for 2 cm . Change to larger double pointed needles and knit Pattern 6 (see instructions above). At the same time, when the work measures 5 cm , inc 1 st each side of marker 34 (33-35) times: Sizes S + L: every 3rd row Size M: alternately every 3rd and every 4th row = 124 (124-128) sts. At the same time, when the work measures 39.5 (39.5-38.5) cm , knit Pattern 5. After Pattern 5, knit 2 cm reverse stockinette stitch for a seam allowance over the cut edge on the body. Bind off. The work measures approx. 46 (46-45) cm . Assembly: Sew a marker thread down into the center of the increased sts each side. Sew two machine seams around the marker threads, 1st seam = 1/2 st from the thread, 2nd seam = 1/2 st from the 1st seam. Cut up for armholes. Sew shoulder seams. Sew the sleeves to the body from the right side as follows: Sew alternately a stitch in the last row of knitting on the sleeve before the seam allowance and a stitch on the body after the machine seam. Turn the sweater inside out and sew the seam allowance from the sleeve over the cut edge on the body by hand. Pick up approx. 85-90 sts on smaller double pointed needles with red around neck and knit stockinette stitch for 6 cm , bind off. |
