Hej!

DROPS Safran 250 g per färg (eller annat garn i garngrupp A).

Could this model be made in all cotton viscose? If yes, I would need to double the amount of yarn, Correct? If not, which sub to Vivaldi would be most appropriate for a summer Knit? I'm making this for my mom and just want to be sure she gets what she wants :)
28.02.2017 - 17:24DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Wilson, result might be different due to the composition of Vivaldi, maybe rather use Brushed Alpaca Silk + Cotton Viscose, read more about alternatives here. Happy knitting!

Hello, i am making the large size for a friend. I am using 8 mm needles using 2 cotton viscose and 1 brushed alpaca silk. The gauge was ok, 12 sts x 18 rows so i started with 68 sts. Now it measures 20 cm and i measured and instead of 57 cm that it should be it is 62. What am i doing wrong? I am making this for a birthday present, please help.
01.07.2016 - 12:08DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mara, you may have worked looser on the 68 sts than you worked on your swatch. Make sure to keep the correct tension when working. Happy knitting!

DROPS Pullover in Cotton Viscose and Vivaldi
DROPS 78-1 |
|
Gauge: 12 sts x 18 rows with 2 strands Cotton Viscose + 1 strand Vivaldi on larger needles in seed st = 10 x 10 cm. Seed Stitch (on an even number of sts): Row 1: * K 1, P 1 * Row 2: * P 1, K 1 * Repeat Rows 1-2. Garter st, when knitting flat: Knit all sts, all rows. Measuring tips: Due to the weight of the garment, it should be measured when held up, not lying flat. Front: Cast on 56-62-68-74-80 sts on larger needles with 1 strand each white and natural Cotton Viscose + 1 strand Vivaldi (= 3 strands). Knit seed st to finished measurements. Read the entire next section before knitting: Neck split: When the piece measures 47-48-49-50-51 cm knit 4 rows garter st over the center 6 sts (the remaining sts are knit in seed st as before). Then divide the work at the center and put half the sts on a st holder. Knit each side separately. 1st side: Continue in seed st, keeping 3 sts in garter st at edge of split. Armhole: At the same time when the piece measures 49-50-51-52-53 cm bind off for armhole at the side every other row: 3 sts 1-1-1-2-2 times, 2 sts 0-1-2-2-3 times, 1 st 3-3-3-3-3 times = 22-23-24-24-25 sts. Neckband: When the piece measures 60-61-63-64-66 cm put 6 sts at the center front on a st holder for the neck. Then bind off for the neck every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 4 times = 10-11-12-12-13 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 68-70-72-74-76 cm. 2nd side: Put sts from st holder back on needles and knit the same as the 1st side, reversing shaping. Note: begin the 1st row at center front. Start by picking up 1 st in the first st from the other side and K tog with the 1st st. This reinforces the lower edge of the split. Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front, but without neck split and shaping. Bind off for armhole as on front = 44-46-48-48-50 sts. When the piece measures 66-68-70-72-74 cm bind off the center 22 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge = 10-11-12-12-13 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 68-70-72-74-76 cm. Sleeve: Loosely cast on 26-26-28-28-30 sts on larger needles with 3 strands as on Body. Knit seed st. When the piece measures 9 cm inc 1 st at each side every 5-4-4-3-3 cm a total of 8-9-9-10-10 times = 42-44-46-48-50 sts. When sleeve measures 46-44-43-40-39 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2-1-1-0-0 times and 1 st 3-6-7-11-12 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 55 cm. Bind off the remaining sts. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Neckband: Pick up approx. 60-65 sts around the neck (incl. sts on st holders) on smaller short circular needles with 3 strands as on sleeves. Knit 4 rows garter st, bind off. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams – leave 12 cm open for side slits at lower edge of each side. Thread leather strip in around the neck. |
