Crochet tension: Remember hook size is only a guide. 8 double crochets/treble crochets in width and approx. 7 rows in height (i.e. an average number of rows of double crochets and treble crochets) with hook size 7 mm = 10 x 10 cm. NOTE: Due to different crochet techniques, the crochet tension can vary from person to person; you can increase or decrease a hook size if necessary to get the right tension. Crochet info: The first double crochet on each row of double crochets is replaced by 1 chain stitch and the first treble crochet on each row of treble crochets is replaced by 3 chain stitches. Each row finishes with 1 double crochet /treble crochet in the chain stitch from the previous row. Textured Pattern: See diag.1 - NOTE: Work in each double crochet /treble crochet from the previous row not between. Stripes: See M.2 - 1 row in M.2 is equivalent to 1 row of double crochets or treble crochets in diag.1. Decrease tip: Decrease as follows at beginning of row: Replace 1 double crochet or 1 treble crochet with 1 slip stitch. Decrease as follows at end of row: Turn piece when you have left the number of double crochets/ treble crochets to be decreased and work back. ------------------------------------------------------ Back piece: Read Crochet info! Work 46-51-55-61-67 loose chain stitches (incl. 1 chain stitch to turn) with hook size 7 mm and Snow. The first row is worked as follows: Work 1 double crochet in 2nd chain stitch from hook, 1 double crochet in next chain stitch, * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* to end of row - NOTE: I Sizes S + L + XL + XXL finish with 1 double crochet in each of the last 3 chain stitches (instead of the last 2 chain stitches) = 32-35-38-42-46 double crochets, turn piece. Work 1 row of double crochets back, then continue with Textured Pattern according to diag.1 at the same time as you work Stripes according to M.2 to finished length. Remember the crochet tension. At the same time, when piece measures 12 and 24 cm increase in each side by working 1 extra double crochet /treble crochet in the next outermost double crochet /treble crochet in each side = 36-39-42-46-50 double crochets/treble crochets. When piece measures 37-38-39-40-41 cm decrease for armholes in each side - see Decrease tip: 3 double crochets/treble crochets 1 time, 2 double crochets/treble crochets 0-0-0-1-2 times and 1 double crochet/treble crochet 0-1-2-2-2 times = 30-31-32-32-32 double crochets/treble crochets. When piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62 cm work only over the outermost 10 double crochets/treble crochets in each side (i.e. do not work over the middle 10-11-12-12-12 double crochets/treble crochets = neck). When piece measures 56-58-60-62-64 cm, cut the strand. Left front piece: Work 24-27-28-31-34 loose chain stitches with hook size 7 mm and Snow. The first row is worked as follows: 1 double crochet in 2nd chain stitch from hook, 1 double crochet in next chain stitch, * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* to end of row - NOTE: In Sizes L + XL + XXL finish with 1 double crochet in each of the last 3 chain stitches (instead of the last 2 chain stitches) = 17-19-20-22-24 double crochets, turn piece. Work 1 row of double crochets back, then continue with Textured Pattern according to diag.1 at the same time as you work Stripes according to M.2 to finished length. At the same time, when piece measures16 and 28 cm (instead of 12 and 24 cm) increase in the side as for back piece = 19-21-22-24-26 double crochets/treble crochets. When piece measures 37-38-39-40-41 cm decrease for armhole in the side as for back piece = 16-17-17-17-17 double crochets/treble crochets. When piece measures 49-51-53-55-57 cm decrease for neck as follows: Work as before from shoulder towards neck until there are 3-4-4-4-4 double crochets/treble crochets left, turn piece. Continue to decrease on each row towards neck - see Decrease tip: 2 double crochets/treble crochets 1 time and 1 double crochet/treble crochet 1 time = 10 double crochets/treble crochets left on shoulder. When piece measures 56-58-60-62-64 cm cut the strand - make sure the length matches the back piece. Right front piece: Work as for left, but reversed. Sleeve: Work 25-27-27-28-28 loose chain stitches (incl. 1 chain stitch to turn) with hook size 7 mm and Snow. The first row is worked as follows: 1 double crochet in 2nd chain stitch from hook, 1 double crochet in next chain stitch, * skip 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* to end of row - NOTE: In sizes S + XL + XXL finish with 1 double crochet in each of the last 3 chain stitches (instead of the last 2 chain stitches) = 18-19-19-20-20 double crochets, turn piece. Work 1 row of double crochets back, then continue with Textured Pattern according to diag.1 at the same time as you work Stripes according to M.2 to finished length. At the same time, when the piece measures 10 cm increase 1 double crochet/treble crochet in each side approx. every 8.5-8.5-7-6-5 cm a total of 5-5-6-6-7 times = 28-29-31-32-34 double crochets/treble crochets - NOTE: Increase by working 1 extra double crochet/treble crochet in next outermost double crochet/treble crochet in each side. When piece measures 48-48-47-45-44 cm decrease for sleeve cap in each side on every row - see Decrease tip: 3 double crochets/treble crochets 1 time, 2 double crochets/treble crochets 1 time and 1 double crochet/treble crochet 1-2-3-5-7 times. Then 2 double crochets/treble crochets in each side until piece measures 56-57-57-57-58 cm, cut strand. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams edge to edge with small, neat stitches. Collar: Work approx. 30 to 36 double crochets around the neck with hook size 7 mm and Snow. Then work Textured Pattern according to diag.1 at the same time as you work Stripes according to M.2. At the same time increase and decrease as follows: Mid front: When collar measures 2 cm increase 1 double crochet/treble crochet towards mid front every 3 cm a total of 3 times. When collar measures 9 cm decrease 1 double crochet/treble crochet in each side towards mid front every row a total of 2 times - see Decrease tip. Mid back: When collar measures approx. 4 cm increase 4 double crochets/treble crochets over the middle 10-11-12-12-12 double crochets/treble crochets back of neck - increase 1 double crochet/treble crochet by working 2 double crochets/treble crochets in same stitch. When collar measures 12 cm cut strand. Bands: Work 2 rows of double crochets with hook size 7 mm and Snow along the left front piece - start from the right side and do not work too many or too few double crochets, the band must be neat and even. Repeat along the right front piece, but on the first row work 6 buttonholes evenly spread - the top buttonhole approx. 1 cm from the neckline and bottom buttonhole approx. 2 cm from the bottom edge. 1 buttonhole = work 2 double crochets in same stitch, then work 1 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches but these are worked together, i.e. work 1 double crochet but wait with the last yarn over and pull through until the next double crochet has been worked the same amount, then make 1 yarn over and pull through all loops on hook. Finishing edge: Work 1 row of double crochets around the whole opening on the jacket with hook side 7 mm and Snow - work from the right side with 1 double crochet in each double crochet - start at bottom of right front piece, continue up band, around collar and down left front piece. Sew in sleeves with small, neat stitches - if this is difficult to do neatly, you can crochet the sleeve to the armhole by working 1 double crochet alternately in sleeve cap and armhole. Sew sleeve and side seams in one go - sew edge to edge with small, neat stitches. Sew buttons onto left band - to match the buttonholes on right band. |
