Bon tricot!

Gauge: 17 sts x 22 rows on larger needle in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm . Rib: * K 1, P 1 * Knot pattern: Divisible by 4 sts + 2 sts. 1st row (right side): Purl. 2nd row (wrong side): K 1, * (K 1, P 1, K 1 in the same st), purl 3 tog *, repeat * - *, finish with K 1. 3rd row: Purl. 4th row: K 1, * P 3 tog, (K 1, P 1, K 1 in the same st) *, repeat * - *, finish with K 1. Repeat these 4 rows. Double Seed stitch (on an even number of sts): 1st row: k 1, p 1 2nd row: k 1, p 1 3rd row: p 1, k 1 4th row: p 1, k 1 Seed stitch (on an even number of sts): All rows: *knit 1, purl 1* Seed stitch (on an odd number of sts): All rows: K 1, *P 1, K 1* Seed stitch (worked in the round): Row 1: *K1, P1* Row 2: Knit the purls and purl the knits from the row below. Pattern: See charts (1 chart = 1 repeat). The pattern is seen from the right side. Different start and stop points are indicated for different sizes. Knit the background of Patterns 1 and 3 (color blue) in double seed st. Knit the sun and the dog of Pattern 4 in seed st. Knit the tree foliage of Pattern 2 in knot pattern. Everything else is in stockinette st except the 8 uppermost rows in each Pattern, which are knit in knot pattern. To get the knot pattern to work out it may be necessary to increase to a number of sts which is divisible by 4 + 2 -- this must be reduced again after you have finished knitting the knot pattern. Back: Cast on 56-60-64 (68-72) sts on smaller needle with light pink and knit 5 cm rib. Change to larger needle and stockinette st, increasing 12-12-14 (14-16) sts evenly distributed on the 1st row = 68-72-78 (82-88) sts. When the work measures 43-46-50 (50-52) cm , bind off the center 28-28-30 (30-32) sts for the neck. Then dec 1 st on each side of the neck. Bind off all sts when the work measures 45-48-52 (52-54) cm . Right front: Cast on 29-31-33 (35-37) sts on smaller needle with light pink and knit 5 cm rib. Change to larger needle, knit Pattern 1 according to the chart and the instructions above, increasing 5-6-6 (7-7) sts evenly distributed on the 1st row = 34-37-39 (42-44) sts. Knit the last 8 rows of Pattern 1 in knot pattern, increasing on the previous row for knot pattern multiple: Sizes 3/4 + 9/10: no increase needed Size 5/6: increase 1 st Size 7/8: increase 3 sts Size 11/12: increase 2 sts After Pattern 1 knit Pattern 2, decreasing on the first row the number of sts you increased = 34-37-39 (42-44) sts. For size 3/4 years knit only the largest tree. When the work measures 40-43-47 (47-49) cm , bind off for the neck every other row: 6-7-7 (8-8) sts 1 time, 3 sts 3 times. At the same time, work the last 8 rows of Pattern 2 in knot pattern, increasing as needed for the correct st multiple. Bind off all sts after Pattern 2. The work measures approx. 45-48-52 (52-54) cm . Left front: Cast on 29-31-33 (35-37) sts on smaller needle with light pink and knit 5 cm rib. Change to larger needle, increasing 5-6-6 (7-7) sts evenly distributed on the 1st row = 34-37-39 (42-44) sts. Size 3/4: knit Pattern 1 Sizes 5/6 + 7/8 + 9/10 + 11/12: Pattern 3 according to the chart and the instructions above. Work the last 8 rows of the pattern in knot pattern (increasing as for right front). After Pattern 1/Pattern 3, knit Pattern 4, decreasing on the first row the number of sts you increased = 34-37-39 (42-44) sts. When the work measures 40-43-47 (47-49) cm , bind off for the neck every other row: 6-7-7 (8-8) sts 1 time, 3 sts 3 times. At the same time, work the last 8 rows of Pattern 4 in knot pattern, increasing as needed for the correct stitch multiple. Bind off all sts after Pattern 4. The work measures approx. 45-48-52 (52-54) cm . Sleeves: Cast on 30-32-32 (34-34) sts on smaller double pointed needles with light pink; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 5 cm rib. Change to larger double pointed needles and stockinette st, increasing 4-2-6 (6-6) sts evenly distributed on the 1st row = 34-34-38 (40-40) sts. Increase 1 st each side of marker 15-17-18 (19-21) times: Sizes 3/4 + 5/6: alternately every 2nd and 3rd row Sizes 7/8 + 9/10: every 3rd row Size 11/12: alternately every 3rd and 4th row = 64-68-74 (78-82) sts. The last 8 rows are worked back and forth in knot pattern. Bind off when the work measures 26-29-33 (36-40) cm . Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx. 80-100 sts along the left front on smaller needle with light pink and knit rib back and forth on needle for 3 cm . Repeat along right front, but after 1 cm make 5-5-6 (6-6) buttonholes evenly distributed on the row - 1 buttonhole = bind off 2 sts and increase 2 new sts over the bound-off sts on the next row. Pick up approx. 75-84 sts on smaller double pointed needles with light pink around the neck and knit 3 cm rib. Sew on the sleeves and buttons. Embroidery: Embroider flowers, sunbeams, door and window, as per chart. On the smallest sizes embroider 3 flowers instead of 4 on Pattern 1 and Pattern 3. |
