Buon lavoro!

Bon tricot!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.13. The diagrams show all rows in the pattern from the right side. CAST-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge to tighten, yarn overs can be made at the same time as casting off. Make a yarn over all the yarn overs from the previous row with yarn overs, cast off the yarn overs as normal stitches. Make sure to not tighten the strand. If it still gets tight, you can cast off with a larger needle. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth, top down. SHAWL: Cast on 7 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and Baby Merino. Insert 1 marker in the 4th stitch (= mid-stitch); allow the marker to follow your work onwards. Work 2 edge stitches in GARTER STITCH – read description above, A.1 (= 1 stitch), A.2 (= mid-stitch), A.3 (= 1 stitch) and 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When A.1 to A.3 are finished in height there are 69 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Work the next row from the right side as follows: 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.4 (= 7 stitches), A.5 (= 17 stitches), A.6 (= 8 stitches), A.7 (= mid-stitch), A.8 (= 8 stitches), A.5 (= 17 stitches), A.9 (= 7 stitches) and 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When A.4 to A.9 are finished in height there are 115 stitches. Work the next row from the right side as follows: 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.4 (= 7 stitches), work A.5 over the next 34 stitches (= 2 repeats of 17 stitches), A.10 (= 14 stitches), A.7 (= mid-stitch), A.11 (= 14 stitches), work A.5 over the next 34 stitches (= 2 repeats of 17 stitches), A.9 (= 7 stitches) and 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When the repeats are finished in height there are 161 stitches. Work the next row from the right side as follows: 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.4 (= 7 stitches), work A.5 over the next 51 stitches (= 3 repeats of 17 stitches), A.12 (= 20 stitches), A.7 (= mid-stitch), A.13 (= 20 stitches), work A.5 over the next 51 stitches (= 3 repeats of 17 stitches), A.9 (= 7 stitches) and 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When the repeats are finished in height there are 205 stitches. Work the next row from the right side as follows: 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.4 (= 7 stitches), work A.5 over the next 85 stitches (= 5 repeats of 17 stitches), A.6 (= 8 stitches), A.7 (= mid-stitch), A.8 (= 8 stitches), work A.5 over the next 85 stitches (= 5 repeats of 17 stitches), A.9 (= 7 stitches) and 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When the repeats are finished in height there are 251 stitches. Work the next row from the right side as follows: 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.4 (= 7 stitches), work A.5 over the next 102 stitches (= 6 repeats of 17 stitches), A.10 (= 14 stitches), A.7 (= mid-stitch), A.11 (= 14 stitches), work A.5 over the next 102 stitches (= 6 repeats of 17 stitches), A.9 (= 7 stitches) and 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When the repeats are finished in height there are 297 stitches. Work the next row from the right side as follows: 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.4 (= 7 stitches), work A.5 over the next 119 stitches (= 7 repeats of 17 stitches), A.12 (= 20 stitches), A.7 (= mid-stitch), A.13 (= 20 stitches), work A.5 over the next 119 stitches (= 7 repeats of 17 stitches), A.9 (= 7 stitches) and 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When the repeats are finished in height there are 341 stitches and the piece measures approx. 33 cm down the mid-stitch. The increases are finished in the smaller size. Work 2 rows of garter stitch over all stitches (increase 1 stitch on each side of the mid-stitch from the right side as before). Cast off – read CAST-OFF TIP. LARGER SIZE: Work the next row from the right side as follows: 2 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.4 (= 7 stitches), work A.5 over the next 153 stitches (= 9 repeats of 17 stitches), A.6 (= 8 stitches), A.7 (= mid-stitch), A.8 (= 8 stitches), work A.5 over the next 153 stitches (= 9 repeats of 17 stitches), A.9 (= 7 stitches) and 2 edge stitches in garter stitch. When the repeats are finished in height there are 387 stitches and the piece measures approx. 36 cm down the mid-stitch. Work 2 rows of garter stitch over all stitches (increase 1 stitch on each side of the mid-stitch from the right side as before). Cast off – read CAST-OFF TIP. |
