Hi, is the number of chain stitches in the starting ring correct? Admittedly I'm not an experienced crocheter, so when starting I can't seem to be able to repeat the first round 4 times around a chain of 6. Trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong so I can start this lovely blanket.
23.04.2023 - 06:42DROPS Design answered:
Dear Jayne, you work 3x4 = 12 treble/ double crochets and ch3 between the groups of 3 treble/ double crochet inside the ring, not inside the stitches. So it should be possible to work 12 stitches + 4 spaces all around the ring. If it's difficult to fit all of them in the ring, check if the chain stitches are too tight and try to work them slightly more loosely, Happy crochetting!

Buongiorno, credo che ci sia un errore nella legenda dello schema per la nocciolina: il gettato finale va passato attraverso tutti e 6 gli occhielli, giusto? O il punto va chiuso in due volte (3 e 3)? Grazie.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. CROCHET INFORMATION: At the beginning of each round of treble crochets, work 3 chain stitches which replace the first treble crochet in A.1, i.e. skip the first treble crochet from the previous round. The round finishes with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- BLANKET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The blanket consists of 12 squares. The squares are worked in the round, middle outwards, then sewn together. An edge is crocheted around the blanket to finish. SQUARE: Use crochet hook size 3.5 mm and DROPS Sky. Start by working a chain-stitch ring as shown in diagram A.1. Read CROCHET INFORMATION and work diagram A.1 four times around the ring. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! When the diagram is finished, the square measures approx. 29 x 29 cm. Cut and fasten the strand. Work 12 squares. ASSEMBLY: Sew the squares together, edge to edge in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch, with 3 squares in width and 4 squares in length. EDGE: Crochet the last 3 rounds in A.1 around the blanket. On the first round, work the seams between the squares as follows: 1 treble crochet around each chain-space and 1 treble crochet in the seam. After the first round, the number of stitches is divisible by 4 + 1, which allows rounds 2 and 3 to fit. |
