Hi, when I do the tension square with 7mm needles to achieve 12 stitches times 10 cm it’s too loose. What do you suggest I do ?
19.02.2021 - 20:59DROPS Design answered:
Dear Gilly, when knitting swatches, and if you have too many stitches on 10 cm switch to larger needles. If you have too few stitches on 10 cm switch to smaller needles. If you achieved the gauge given in the pattern, and you FEEL that the piece is too loose, you can change your needles to smaller ones, but then you will have to recalculate the number of stitching you are knitting with. Happy Knitting!

Ist die Mütze wirklich nur 17 Reihen hoch?
21.01.2021 - 12:32DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Liz, Sie stricken zuerst 24 cm mit A.1 (Rippenmuster), dann stricken Sie A.2 (= Abnahmen).

Can you please clarify the text directions for section A.2? When one passes 2 slipped stitches over a stitch worked, one decreases by two. Yet the next row of the diagram shows a decrease of only one stitch.
22.10.2020 - 01:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Bradley-White, when you slip 2 stitches as if to knit together, knit 1, pass the 2 slipped stitches over stitch worked, you decrease 2 stitches, ie on next to last row in A.2, there are 4 sts in each A.2, you now decrease 2 sts and purl the last st in each repeat = 2 sts remain in each repeat of A.2 on the round. Hope this helps. Happy knitting!

Buon lavoro!

Do I really need double pointed needles because I don’t have any
09.05.2020 - 01:24DROPS Design answered:
Hi Juri, You will need double pointed needles at the top of the hat, when you have decreased so many stitches that the circular needle is too long. Happy knitting!

TUSEN TAKK :)
22.02.2019 - 17:29DROPS Design answered:
Hei Mari.

Når det står: "Når arbeidet måler 24 cm (inkludert 8 cm brettkant), strikkes A.2 over A.1 (= 4 ganger i bredden).". Betyr det at hver "linje" på A.2 skal strikkes 4 ganger før man begynner på linjen over?
