GARTER ST (back and forth): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K. PATTERN: (1st row = RS): * K 1 row, P 1 row, K 2 rows *, repeat from *-* upwards. MEASURING TIP: All measurements must be done when holding the piece up on needle. BUTTONHOLES: Dec for buttonholes on right band. 1 buttonhole = K tog third and fourth st from edge and make 1 YO. Dec for buttonholes when piece measures: SIZE S: 32, 40 and 48 cm SIZE M: 33, 41 and 49 cm SIZE L: 35, 42 and 50 cm SIZE XL: 35, 43 and 51 cm SIZE XXL: 34, 43 and 52 cm SIZE XXXL: 35, 44 and 53 cm ---------------------------------------------------------- BACK PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 56-60-64-70-76-82 sts on circular needle size 8 mm with 1 thread Cloud or 2 threads Air. Work in GARTER ST - see explanation above. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION When piece measures 20 cm, insert a marker in each side of piece for vent - READ MEASURING TIP. When piece measures 52-53-54-55-56-57 cm, cast off 1-1-2-4-5-5 sts for armholes at beg of the next 2 rows = 54-58-60-62-66-72 sts on needle. When piece measures 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm, cast off the middle 20-22-22-22-24-24 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Continue to cast off 1 st on next row from neck = 16-17-18-19-20-23 sts remain on the shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 68-70-72-74-76-78 cm. Work the other shoulder the same way. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 32-34-36-39-42-45 sts (incl 4 band sts towards mid front) on circular needle size 8 mm with 1 thread Cloud or 2 threads Air. Work in garter st. When piece measures 20 cm, insert a marker at the end of row from RS for vent. Remember BUTTONHOLES - see explanation above. When piece measures 52-53-54-55-56-57 cm, cast off 1-1-2-4-5-5 sts for armhole at beg of row from WS = 31-33-34-35-37-40 sts. When piece measures 62-64-66-68-70-72 cm, slip the first 10-11-11-11-12-12 sts from RS on a stitch holder for neck. Then cast off sts on every row from neck as follows: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 3 times = 16-17-18-19-20-23 sts. Cast off when piece measures 68-70-72-74-76-78 cm. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work as right front piece but reversed. I.e. Insert a marker for vent at beg of row from RS. Cast off for armhole at beg of row from RS, and cast off for neck from WS. Do not dec for buttonholes on left front piece. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 24-24-26-26-28-28 sts on circular needle size 8 mm with 1 thread Cloud or 2 threads Air. Work 2 ridges. Now work PATTERN - see explanation above. When piece measures 10 cm, inc 1 st in each side of piece. Repeat inc every 7-6-6-5-5-4 cm 5-6-6-7-7-8 more times = 36-38-40-42-44-46 sts. Cast off when piece measures 48-48-48-48-47-46 cm (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulders). Knit another sleeve the same way. COLLAR: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Beg from RS on right front piece and pick up approx. 54-59 sts (incl sts on stitch holders the front). Work in garter st for 12 cm, cast off with 2 strands from RS. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves -sew in outer loops of edge sts to avoid a chunky seam. Sew underarm and side seams in one down to marker for vent, sew in outer loops of edge sts. Sew the buttons on to left band. |
