In the first set on instructions the pattern says to increase 8sts evenly. I'm assuming yo is out since it would make a hole, so I guess m1 is what you mean. But should I increase in the middle of the row or at the ends? Also, when A3 is used, sometimes to work for 0-0-4-8cm. Does this mean that for small and medium I shouldn't work it at all or work it just one pass through?
01.04.2017 - 21:58DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Brownfield, the 8 sts have to be inc evenly, read more here how to increase evenly. In the first 2 sizes you will not work A.3 (= 0 times). Happy knitting!

Bon assemblage!

To follow the pattern in knitting the left side, 1) Does word "Now" mean after the diagram for A6 is done on the shoulder piece & 2) why finish up to last 8 stitches as shown on diagram A6 and then do another turn on the short row in middle? Thanks for pattern help :) LEFT SIDE: Cast on and work as right side but now work A.6 instead of A.2 so that short rows are in the opposite side. Now turn in the middle of a row from WS and work 3 rows over all sts at the end of diagram.
23.09.2016 - 19:55DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Paddingtonbear, when working let side, start as with right side (= work A.1 and A.3 as 1st side) but then after A.3 work A.6 instead of A.2. Short rows will be now from WS instead of from RS on right side. Happy knitting!

20.08.2016 - 12:52DROPS Design answered:
Dobrý den, ano, u velikosti XS/S se vzor A.3 neplete - pokračujete rovnou další řadou uvedenou v popisu, se vzorem A.4. Hodně zdaru! Hana

Hallo!

I'm having a doubt. I'm working this pattern in XS and I finished A1 as indicated, being 43 rows, is it true that we finish in K (meaning the next row shall be as RS in pattern A2)? So after that I should work A 3 for 0 (zero lines?? even if it is indicated in the pattern a design for XS?). If I'm correct that I don't have to work A3 after the first A1, then how shall I continue? with A2 but considering K or RS this time?!
21.05.2016 - 09:15DROPS Design answered:
Dear Valentina, last row in A.1 is worked from WS, then work A.2 (starting with row 1 from RS - do not work the last 2 rows in A.2) and then work A.3 for 1 cm (correction will come soon). Happy knitting!

GARTER ST (back and forth): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.6. The diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from RS. ---------------------------------------------------------- SHOULDER PIECE: Worked in two parts that are sewn tog mid back. RIGHT SIDE: Work from mid back of neck, around the body and finish mid back on back. Cast on 46-60-60-60 sts on needle size 5 mm with Air. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above, on last row inc 8 sts evenly = 54-68-68-68 sts. Then work as follows from RS: 4 sts in garter st, A.1 (= 46-60-60-60 sts) and 4 sts in garter st. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION When A.1 has been worked one time vertically, work A.3 for 0-0-4-8 cm. Then work short rows as follows: 4 sts in garter st, A.2 and 4 sts in garter st. Work A.2 as follows: Work the first 2 rows, work next row from RS but turn when 8 sts remain (the last 4 sts in A.2 + 4 sts in garter st), tighten yarn and work back. Work 5th row in A.2 but turn when 11 sts remain on row, tighten yarn and work back. Continue like this until 2 rows have been worked only over the first 8 sts on row (4 sts in garter st + the first 4 sts in A.2). Work A.3 over all sts for 1-1-4-8 cm. Then work as follows from RS: 4 sts in garter st, A.4 and 4 sts in garter st. Work A.4 1-2-2-2 times vertically, last time finish when 2 rows remain in A.4. Work A.3 for 1-1-4-8 cm. Then work as follows: 4 sts in garter st, A.2, 4 sts in garter st (work A.2 with short rows as the last time). When A.2 has been worked one time vertically, work A.3 for 0-0-4-8 cm, then work as follows: 4 sts in garter st, A.5 and 4 sts in garter st. When A.5 has been worked one time vertically, work 2 ridges, on first row dec 8 sts evenly = 46-60-60-60 sts. Cast off. LEFT SIDE: Cast on and work as right side but now work A.6 instead of A.2 so that short rows are in the opposite side. NB! Work 1 row from WS over all sts after A.6 before working A.3. ASSEMBLY: Sew tog cast-on edge from right side towards cast-on edge on left side, cross the sides and sew tog cast-off edges. Sew a small stitch in the back so that the two parts are fastened tog. |
