Mvh DROPS Design

The pattern says the yarn is sport weight but it calls for 2 yarns knit together. My question is, do the 2 yarns equal the sport weight, and could a single sport weight yarn be used instead?
02.10.2019 - 18:10DROPS Design answered:
Dear Nanci, you can work this pattern either with 2 strands yarn group A or with 1 strand yarn group C - read more about alternatives here or use yarn converter. Happy knitting!

14.01.2019 - 17:02DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Maggie, in jedem A.1 haben Sie 4 x 2 M re zs, (1 Umschlag, 1 M re) x 7, 1 Umschlag, 4 x 2 M re zs.

Sorry. I guess I didn't make myself clear. I don't want to know how to sew the edges of the collar together. I want to know how the collar is attached to the rest of the poncho. The fact that it is detachable suggests it is attached at some point in some way. Hope you can help.
17.11.2014 - 14:57DROPS Design answered:
Dear Su, sorry for misunderstanding. The "big collar" is worked separately and is worn as a neckwarmer over the poncho, but you may attach it at some places if you rather like to. Happy knitting!

HOw do you attach the detachable collar?
17.11.2014 - 13:17DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sue, when you have cast off all sts, sew edge sts together - the video below shows a technique to sew pieces worked in garter st. Happy knitting!

I'm about to start knitting the poncho and have a couple questions. Can the collar be knitted in the round or is there a reason it's knitted back and forth? And is the collar sewn on to the neck of the poncho or is it detachable? Thanks for your fabulous patterns, I've made several and always loved the result.
02.10.2014 - 06:41DROPS Design answered:
Dear Judith, the poncho do have a small neck edge (P1 round, K1 round, P1 round and cast off with K sts), then you work a detachable collar in garter st - you are free to work this collar in the round if you prefer. Happy knitting!

Continue to cast off for neck at beg of every row from neck as follows: 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 2 times = 36-40-41-46-48-54 sts remain on shoulder - NOTE: The sts that do not fit in the pattern when casting off for neck are worked in stocking st, but on the rows worked K from WS, K over all sts – make also sure that the no of YOs and dec in pattern is the same so that no of sts is correct. When piece measures 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm, LOOSELY cast off. Repeat in the other side. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams inside cast-off edge - make sure the seam is not tight.
