PATTERN: See diagram M.1. Diagram shows 1 pattern repeat. The entire pattern is worked in stocking st. DECREASING TIP: Dec as follows before marker: K2 tog. Dec as follows after marker: slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso. HEEL DECREASES: Row 1 (= RS): Work row until 8-9-9 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K1, psso, turn piece. Row 2 (= WS): Work row until 8-9-9 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P1, psso, turn piece. Row 3 (= RS): Work row until 7-8-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K1, psso, turn piece. Row 4 (= WS): Work row until 7-8-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P1, psso, turn piece. Continue dec like this with 1 less st before each dec until 10-10-12 sts remain on needle. -------------------------------------------------------- SOCK: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 52-56-60 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm with grey. K 1 round and continue in rib = P2 / K2. When rib measures 5 cm work 4 rounds off-white stocking st, and then continue in M.1 on all sts. Insert a marker after 2 sts = mid back. When piece measures 8 cm dec 1 st on each side of marker mid back – SEE DECREASING TIP, and repeat the dec when piece measures 14 and 20 cm = 46-50-54 sts. NOTE! Due to the dec M.1 doesn’t fit mid back. When piece measures 25-27-28 cm keep the first 12-13-14 sts on needle, slip the next 22-24-26 sts on a stitch holder (= mid upper foot) and keep the last 12-13-14 sts on needle = 24-26-28 sts for heel. Work 5-5.5-6 cm grey stocking st back and forth on heel sts. Insert a marker. Now work HEEL DECREASES – see above! After heel decreases pick up 10-11-11 sts each side of heel and slip the 22-24-26 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 52-56-60 sts. Continue in the round in stocking st and M.1, AT THE SAME TIME dec each side of heel as follows: K tog the first 2 sts after the 22-24-26 sts on upper foot and K tog into back of loop the last 2 sts before the 22-24-26 sts on upper foot. Repeat the dec on every other round a total of 4 times = 44-48-52 sts. Continue until piece measures 18-20-22 cm from marker on heel (= approx 4-4-5 cm remain). Now insert a marker each side with 22-24-26 sts on upper foot and 22-24-26 sts under foot. Continue in grey stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME dec for toes on each side of both markers as follows - beg 3 sts before marker: K2 tog, K2 (marker sits between these 2 sts), K2 tog into back of loop. Repeat the dec on every other round a total of 3-3-4 times and then on every round a total of 6-7-7 times = 8 sts left on needle. Cut the thread, pull it through remaining sts, and fasten. |
