Thanks, Elizabeth. So does M1, M2 etc, are they the patterns? I'm very confused. Thanks for your help.

I think, by looking at the photo of the scarf, that I see pattern 4 twice. Pattern 3 is almost hidden because it comes directly after pattern 2. I think what you see before and after the "big holes" is pattern 4 twice. Try crocheting as described, and see if it comes out like the photo.

I am reading the pattern for the scarf, but I am getting confused "crochet Pattern 1 one time, then repeat Pattern 2. When the piece measures approx. 145 cm [57 1/8"] crochet Pattern 3 once, then Pattern 4 twice. Fasten off. At opposite end of scarf crochet Pattern 3 once - see that it matches the other end - then Pattern 4 twice." I can only see one diagram/pattern. Can anyone help me please.

Crochet tension: 1 repeat of pattern which goes over 8 chain stitches = 5 cm. Remember hook size is only a guide! Pattern: See diagrams - M.1, M.2, M.3 and M.4. ------------------------------------------------------------ Scarf: Work with Ull-Bouclé and hook size 6 mm a chain stitch-cord of 56 chain stitches. Continue with M.1, then M.2. Remember the crochet tension! When piece measures approx. 145 cm, work M.3 then M.4 two times in height. Start working again at the other end of the scarf - first M.3 - make sure you have 7 repeats in the same way as the first end, then M.4 two times in height. (the scarf should now be the same in both ends). Fringe: Fasten 1 tassel in each of the 7 tips in each end of scarf = 7 tassels in each end. 1 tassel = Cut 10 strands of 30 cm, fold them double and fasten. DROPS HAT: Size: Fits head size = approx. 56 cm. Materials: DROPS Tynn Cotton from Garnstudio 50 g colour no 924, deep red. 50 g colour no 925, burgundy. DROPS crochet hook size 2.5 mm. ------------------------------------------------------------ Crochet tension: 24 double crochets in width = 10 cm. 1 crochet square = approx. 7 x 7 cm. Crochet square: Work 2 different squares. The first square has rounds 1 and 3 in deep red and 2 and 4 in burgundy, the other square has the opposite. Work 6 chain stitches with colour 1 and form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch. Round 1: Colour 1: 3 chain stitches, 2 treble crochets in the ring, 3 chain stitches, * 3 treble crochets, 3 chain stitches *, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times. Finish with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of round. Turn piece. Round 2: Colour 2: 3 chain stitches, 2 treble crochets in space, 3 chain stitches, 3 treble crochets in same space, * 1 chain stitch, 3 treble crochets in next space, 3 chain stitches, 3 treble crochets in same space *, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times. Finish with 1 chain stitch and then 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of round. Turn piece. Round 3: Colour 1: 3 chain stitches, 2 treble crochets in space, 1 chain stitch, * 3 treble crochets in next space, 3 chain stitches, 3 treble crochets in same space, 1 chain stitch, 3 treble crochets in next space, 1 chain stitch *, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times, 3 treble crochets in next space, 3 chain stitches, 3 treble crochets in same space, 1 chain stitch, 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of round. Turn piece. Round 4: Colour 2: 3 chain stitches, 2 treble crochets in space, 1 chain stitch, * 3 treble crochets in next space, 3 chain stitches, 3 treble crochets in same space, 1 chain stitch, 3 treble crochets in next space, 1 chain stitch, 3 treble crochets in next space, 1 chain stitch *, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times, 3 treble crochets in next space, 3 chain stitches, 3 treble crochets in same space, 1 chain stitch, 3 treble crochets in next space, 1 chain stitch, 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of round. ---------------------------------------------------------- Hat: Work 8 squares - i.e. 4 with deep red as colour no 1 and 4 with burgundy as colour no 1. Sew the squares together in a ring, make sure you do not have two similar squares next to each other. Crochet with hook size 2.5 mm and burgundy 143 double crochets (divisible by 11) along the one edge of your «band of squares» = approx. 18 double crochets per square. Work 5 rounds with 1 double crochet in each of the double crochets from previous round. Insert 13 marker threads in the piece with 11 double crochets between each. Then continue with double crochets, at the same time as you decrease 1 double crochet (by working 2 double crochets together) before all marker threads = 130 double crochets. Repeat the decreases upwards until there are 13 double crochets left. Now decrease by skipping every other double crochet on the round until there are no stitches left. Pull the strand through the last stitch and fasten well. Work with hook size 2.5 mm and burgundy 145 treble crochets (divisible by 4 + 1) on the other side of the «band of squares». Continue to work as follows: * 5 chain stitches, skip 3 treble crochets, 1 double crochet *, repeat from *-*. On next round work 5 double crochets in each chain-space from previous round. |
