Gauge: 11 sts x 15 rows in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm Pattern: See charts. The pattern is seen from the right side. «Midt foran/fram» = center front. Front: Cast on 44-48-52-58-64 sts and P 1 row (wrong side). Knit the next row as follows: K 1-1-2-2-2 (garter st edge sts), K 2, P 3-3-4-5-6, K 2, P 9-11-11-13-15, Pattern 1 (= 10 sts), P 9-11-11-13-15, K 2, P 3-3-4-5-6, K 2 and K 1-1-2-2-2 (garter st edge sts). Continue in pattern as established. Read the entire next section before knitting: V-neck: When the piece measures approx. 35-37-38-40-42 cm – adjust so that you have at least 2 rows after a cable – divide the piece at center front and knit each piece separately. Each cable now will be along the edge of the V-neck. Put half the sts on a st holder. 1st side: Continue in pattern and shape V-neck as shown in chart on page 25 (1st row of chart = wrong side). Armhole: At the same time when the piece measures 36-37-38-39-40 cm knit 2 rows garter st over the outermost 3-3-4-7-9 sts at each side (the remaining sts are knit the same as before). On the next row bind off the outermost 2-2-3-6-8 sts at each side for armhole. Continue in pattern as established, keeping 1 st at armhole in garter st. After all V-neck and armhole shaping is complete 12-14-15-15-16 sts remain on each shoulder. Continue in pattern, with 1 st in garter st at each side. When the piece measures 53-55-57-59-61 cm dec 2 sts over each cable by K 2 tog (from right side) = 10-12-13-13-14 sts remain on each shoulder. Put sts on a st holder, the piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62 cm. 2nd side: Knit the same as the first side, reversing all shaping. Begin the first row at center front. Start by picking up 1 st in the first st from the other side and K tog with the first st on needle, in order to reinforce the bottom of the V-neck. Back: Cast on 40-44-48-54-60 sts and P 1 row (wrong side). Establish pattern as follows on the next row: Size XS: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), * K 2, P 3 *, repeat * - * a total of 3 times, K 2, P 4, * K 2, P 3 *, repeat a total of 3 times and finish with K 2 and K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). Size S: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), * K 2, P 3 *, repeat * - * and finish with K 2 and K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). Size M: K 2 (edge sts knit in garter st), K 2, P 4, * K 2, P 3 *, repeat * - * a total of 6 times and finish with K 2, P 4, K 2 and K 2 (edge sts knit in garter st). Size L: K 2 (edge sts knit in garter st), K 2, P 5 * K 2, P 3 *, repeat * - * a total of 3 times, K 2, P 2, * K 2, P 3 *, repeat * - * a total of 3 times and finish with K 2, P 5, K 2 and K 2 (edge sts knit in garter st). Size XL: K 2 (edge sts knit in garter st), K 2, P 2, K 2, P 2, * K 2, P 3 *, repeat * - * a total of 3 times, K 3, P 4, K 3, * P 3, K 2 *, repeat * - * a total of 3 times and finish with P 2, K 2, P 2, K 2 and K 2 (edge sts knit in garter st). When the piece measures 36-37-38-39-40 cm knit 2 rows in garter st over the outermost 3-3-4-7-9 sts at each side (knit the remaining sts as before). On the next row bind off the outermost 2-2-3-6-8 sts at each side for armhole = 36-40-42-42-44 sts. Continue in rib with 1 st in garter st at each side. When the piece measures 51-53-55-57-59 cm knit 2 rows garter st over the center 18 sts (knit the remaining sts as before). On the next row bind off the center 16 sts for the neck = 10-12-13-13-14 sts remain on each shoulder. Put shoulder sts on st holders. The piece measures the same as front. Assembly: Join shoulder sts with Kitchener st – see Fig.1. Sew side seams edge to edge. |
