In size M it is recommended to buy 400 gr of yarn(8 🧶). My finished product is 100 % according to the measurements, and I only used 300 gr of yarn.

Why are some circular needles faulty? I purchase a pair from a website and used them only twice, but I lost all the stitches midway when I was knitting an intricate pattern and had to pull the whole lot out. The plastic broke off from the actual needle. When I asked for a replacement or refund I was told to contact the manufacturer. Shouldn’t circular needles have a guarantee because it’s frustrating having to start all over again

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Choose diagram for your size (applies to A.2 and A.3). DECREASE/INCREASE TIP (evenly): To calculate how to decrease/increase evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 194 stitches) and divide stitches by number of decreased/increases to be done (e.g. 18) = 10.8. In this example decrease by knitting approx. every 10th and 11th stitch together. When increasing make in this example 1 yarn over after approx. every 11th stitch. On next round work yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work body in the round on circular needle, from the bottom and up to armholes. Sleeve edges are worked in the round on double pointed needles/a short circular needle, from the bottom up to armholes. Slip body and sleeve edges together and work yoke in the round on circular needle until finished measurements. BODY: Cast on 194-212-228-246-268-294 stitches on circular needle size 3.5 mm with Cotton Merino or Merino Extra Fine. Knit 1 round. Then work rib in the round (= knit 1/purl 1) for 3 cm. Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm. Knit 1 round while decreasing 18-20-20-22-24-26 stitches evenly - read DECREASE/INCREASE TIP = 176-192-208-224-244-268 stitches. Then work in stocking stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 25-28-28-28-28-28 cm, cast off for armholes in each side, i.e. work next round as follows: Cast off 3-3-4-4-5-5 stitches for armhole, work 82-90-96-104-112-124 stitches in stocking stitch, cast off 6-6-8-8-10-10 stitches for armhole, work 82-90-96-104-112-124 stitches in stocking stitch, and cast off the last 3-3-4-4-5-5 stitches for armhole. Cut the yarn and pull yarn through last stitch Put piece aside , and work the sleeves. SLEEVE EDGES: Cast on 60-64-68-76-84-88 stitches on double pointed needles or short circular needle size 3.5 mm with Cotton Merino or Merino Extra Fine. Knit 1 round. Then work rib in the round (= knit 1/purl 1) for 3 cm. Switch to double pointed needles or short circular needle size 4.5 mm. Knit 1 round while increase 4 stitches evenly in all sizes - read DECREASE/INCREASE TIP = 64-68-72-80-88-92 stitches. Work in stocking stitch in the round until piece measures approx. 5 cm in all sizes. On next round cast off for armholes, i.e. work next round as follows: Cast off 3-3-4-4-5-5 stitches, knit 58-62-64-72-78-82 stitches and cast off the last 3-3-4-4-5-5 stitches. Cut the yarn and pull yarn through last stitch Work the other sleeve edge the same way. YOKE: Slip sleeve edges on to same circular needle size 4.5 mm as body, where armholes were cast off – this is done without working the stitches = 280-304-320-352-380-412 stitches. Insert 1 marker on row - measure yoke from this marker. Start in the transition between back piece and right sleeve, and work in stocking stitch in the round for 2-2-3-1-3-4 cm – AT THE SAME TIME on first round decrease 7-10-5-16-2-13 stitches evenly = 273-294-315-336-378-399 stitches. Work A.1 in the round– NOTE: On 6th round in A.1 knit last stitch on round (applies to sizes XS, M and XXL). When A.1 has been worked vertically, work A.2 in the round (= 13-14-15-16-18-19 repetitions of 21 stitches). Continue pattern like this and decrease as shown in diagram. When you have worked up to round marked with arrow in A.2, there are 182-196-210-224-252-266 stitches on needle. On round marked with arrow in A.2 decrease 13-14-28-14-28-28 stitches evenly = 169-182-182-210-224-238 stitches. When A.2 has been worked vertically, work A.3 in the round (= 13-14-14-15-17-16 repetitions of 13-13-13-14-14-14 stitches). Continue pattern like this and decrease as shown in diagram. When A.3 has been worked, there are 117-126-126-135-144-153 stitches on row, and piece measures approx. 19-19-20-22-24-25 cm from marker. Work in stocking stitch until piece measures 19-19-21-22-24-26 cm from marker. Knit 1 round while decreasing 25-30-30-31-36-41 stitches evenly = 92-96-96-104-108-112 stitches. Then work neck edge as explained below. NECK EDGE: Switch to circular needle size 3.5 mm. Work rib in the round = knit 1/purl 1 for 3 cm. Cast off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl. Jumper measures approx. 47-50-52-54-56-58 cm from shoulder and down. ASSEMBLY: Sew the openings under the sleeves. |
