Buon lavoro!

GARTER ST (worked in the round): 1 ridge = 2 rounds. * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. ---------------------------------------------------------- SKIRT: Worked in the round on circular needle from bottom up. Cast on 224-240-256-288-320 sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm with Alpaca. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Switch to circular needle size 3 mm and work 2 round in stocking st. Then work as follows: * P 14, A.1 (= 2 sts) *, repeat from *-* the entire round (= 14-15-16-18-20 repetitions on round). When piece measures 2-3-3-3-5 cm, dec 14-15-16-18-20 sts on round by working the first 2 sts in each P section P tog. Repeat dec every 2-2-3-3-3 cm 7 times in total but dec alternately at end and beg of each P section (i.e. next time you dec work the last 2 sts in each P section P tog, then work the first 2 sts in each P section P tog etc.). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION After last round with dec, there are 126-135-144-162-180 sts remain on needle. When piece measures 14-18-21-24-27 cm (last dec should now be done), K 1 round AT THE SAME TIME dec 6-7-8-10-20 sts evenly = 120-128-136-152-160 sts on needle. Switch to circular needle size 2.5 mm and work rib = K 1/P 1. When rib measures 4-4-6-8-10 cm, work eyelet row (round) as follows: * K 1, P 1, 1 YO, P 2 tog *, repeat from *-* the entire round. Continue rib until skirt measures 21-25-30-35-40 cm (rib measures approx. 7-7-9-11-13 cm). Cast off sts with K over K and P over P. TIES: Cut 3 lengths Alpaca of 3½ metres. Twine the strands tog until they resist, fold the strands double so that they twine. Make a knot at each end. Beg mid front and thread tie up and down through eyelet row. |
