Vielen, vielen Dank... 😊

I finished your pattern 134-53 now i can't figure out how you make your twist in the front. It would be so much easier if you had a video with sound.
13.12.2019 - 01:09DROPS Design answered:
Hello Mary! You have to twist the work before sewing together mid-back. Hope it helps!

I love your pattern 134-53 headband but i keep coming up short one stitch on each row i've tried 4 times always the same I started with 10 stitches and end up with only a few stitches do you have a video of this pattern so i can see how it done? I'm using English Rib[ back and forth on needle].
09.12.2019 - 17:40DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Forrest, on first row in English Rib, you will decrease by K2 tog, that's the reason why there are fewer stitches at the end of this row 1. = 7 sts remain. Happy knitting!

I have tried and tried to do the first row of English rib but it leaves me with one stitch short every time. Because I feel I should have done yarn over after the first knit stitch otherwise I'm short. What am I doing wrong?
24.02.2019 - 04:39DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Taylor, when you work the English rib back and forth, you will have 1 st in garter st on each side, then start and finish the same way from RS ie with K2 tog on first row (= K tog YO and slipped st on row 3) - when working in the round, you need an even number of sts and repeat the 2 sts. Happy knitting!

There seems to be a conflict between the pattern as it is written here and your youtube video on how to knit the fishermans rib on straight needles below the youtube video the instructions say you must start with an uneven amount of stitches, however here for the headband, it states to cast on 10 sts, which of course is an even number. Can you please clarify this. Thank you
03.01.2018 - 09:53DROPS Design answered:
Dear Kimberley, the video is showing the standard technique for Fisherman's rib on an uneven number of sts, working the headband with 10 sts, work as explained under pattern: ENGLISH RIB (back and forth on needle), which is almost the same, starting the same way as in video and ending row a bit differently (one stitch less), so that you can repeat row 2 and 3 as shown in video over your even number of sts. Happy knitting!

Using two needles for the neck warmer, it looks nothing like the photo. On checking the instructions, there are two differences between using the two needles and the round needle. The instructions for the round seems to me to be the correct one so where am I going wrong? Thank you
03.10.2016 - 11:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear May Ryan, there is a slightly difference when working fisherman in the round or back and forth. For neckwarmer, you are working in the round, as in the video below. Happy knitting!

Knitted DROPS head band and neck warmer in English rib in ”Polaris”.
DROPS 134-53 |
|
ENGLISH RIB (back and forth on needle): ROW 1: 1 st in garter st, * K 2 tog, 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P *, repeat from *-* until 3 sts remain, finish with K 2 tog and 1 st in garter st. ROW 2: 1 st in garter st, * 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P, K tog YO and slipped st *, repeat from *-* a total of 2 times, finish with 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P, 1 st in garter st. ROW 3: 1 st in garter st, * K tog YO and slipped st, 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P *, repeat from *-* until 3 sts remain, K tog YO and slipped st, 1 st in garter st. Repeat 2nd and 3rd row upwards. ENGLISH RIB (in the round on circular needle): ROUND 1: * 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P, K 1 *, repeat from *-*. ROUND 2: * P tog YO and slipped st, 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P *, repeat from *-*. ROUND 3: * 1 YO, slip 1 st as if to P, K tog YO and slipped st *, repeat from *-*. Repeat 2nd and 3rd round upwards. TIP FOR SWITCHING THREADS: When switching ball with Polaris, split the old thread in two on the last 15 cm – cut off one part, do the same on the new thread. Place the first and last 15 cm on top of each other so that the yarn is the normal thickness and continue to work – this is done to make the thread switch invisible in the yarn. -------------------------------------------------------- HEAD BAND: Cast on 10 sts on needle size 12 m with Polaris. Work ENGLISH RIB back and forth on needle - see explanation above. Remember TIP FOR SWITCHING THREADS! When piece measures approx. 55 cm (or desired length) - finish after 3rd row in English rib - work next row as follows: 1 st in garter st, * P 1, K tog YO and slipped st *, repeat from *-* until 2 sts remain, finish with P 1 and 1 st in garter st. Cast off with K over K and P over P. Twist the piece once and sew tog mid back with stitches to make the seam invisible. Sew a couple of small stitches mid front of twist at the back to keep the twist in place. NECK WARMER: Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 38 sts on circular needle size 12 mm with Polaris. Work in ENGLISH RIB in the round on circular needle - see explanation above - until piece measures approx. 30 cm. Finish after 2nd round in English rib - work next round as follows: K 1, * K tog YO and slipped st, P 1 *, repeat from *-* until 1 st remains, finish with K 1. Then cast off with K over K and P over P. |
