When I use the gauge swatch what do I seek? I've never done a swatch Also typically your patterns will have inches around for circumference? Am I lost or just aren't seeing this part Also you tend to use parenthesis when it's sized? Where is the small medium large I'm 22 Thank you as always a admirer :)

Dear Mrs Thomas, you should have a tension of 20 dc = 4" - in 1st size, you will get then 90 dc around head, ie approx. 18" and in larger size 100 dc around head, ie approx. 20". In order to fit on the head, you have a bit less inch, so that the hat stay on head. You can always adjust crocheting more/less sts to fit yours. Happy crocheting!

Hi. I'm just crocheting this pattern for my 22 years old daughter, but is too big for her (she's kind of a petite girl). How can I reduce the circumference to fit 19"/20" (48-51 cm) and still be able to finish the hat as gorgeous as it looks. Thanks
30.06.2014 - 19:11DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Ivelisse, you can calculate with your gauge and the circumference to fit how many sts you should require. Happy crocheting!

Round 19(20) you can't get 90(100) by dc in dc and dc in Ch sp it requires 2 dc in Ch dp
28.05.2014 - 17:14DROPS Design answered:
Dear Judi, on round 18(19) you have 45 (50) dc with 2 ch between each dc, on next round, work 1 dc in each dc and 1 dc in each ch-space = 90 (100) dc. Happy crocheting!

Your Patterns do not indicate for which Skill Level, eg. Easy, Beg. Also the "Fit" of the Hat, note on "loose" would help also.
