Agreed. All my votes went to almost all the crocheted items. There needs to be more variety in crocheted garments

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- CHAIN STITCH: If you work outermost on the hook the chain stitch will often be too tight; 1 chain stitch should be as long as 1 treble crochet is wide. CROCHET INFORMATION (for the hat): Work in the round without finishing after each round (gives invisible transitions): Insert 1 marker-thread after the marker at the beginning of the round so you can see where the round starts. On round 2 work the first 2 treble crochets in the 3rd chain stitch (1st treble crochet) from the beginning of round 1, work as described in the text over all the treble crochets from round 1. Do not finish the round but work the first treble crochet on the next round in the first treble crochet from the previous round. On the final round, to avoid a «jump», work until there are 2 treble crochets left on the round, work 1 half-treble crochet in the next treble crochet, 1 double crochet in the last treble crochet and finish with 1 slip stitch in the first treble crochet on the round. INCREASE TIP (for hat): Increase 1 treble crochet by working 2 treble crochets in the same treble crochet. STRIPES (for scarf): Work with 2 strands DROPS Alpaca. Colour 618, nougat is used throughout, the other colours change to create stripes. STRIPE 1: Work 5 cm with colour 4010, light lavender. STRIPE 2: Work 12 cm with colour 6309, jeans blue. STRIPE 3: Work 5 cm with colour 7139, mineral blue. STRIPE 4: Work 12 cm with colour 4010, light lavender STRIPE 5: Work 5 cm with colour 6309, jeans blue STRIPE 6: Work 12 cm with colour 7139, mineral blue Repeat these stripes to finished length. CROCHET INFORMATION (for scarf): At the beginning of each row of treble crochets, work 3 chain stitches which replace the first treble crochet, i.e., skip the first stitch from the previous row. Finish the row with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the previous row. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The hat is worked in the round, top down, with 2 strands DROPS Alpaca. HAT: Use crochet hook size 3.5 mm and 1 strand colour light lavender and 1 strand colour nougat (2 strands). Work 4 CHAIN STITCHES – read description above. Form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. ROUND 1: Work 3 chain stitches (replace the first treble crochet), then 10 treble crochets around the ring, work 1 treble crochet around the 3 chain stitches at the beginning of the round = 12 treble crochets. ROUND 2: Read CROCHET INFORMATION and work 2 treble crochets in each treble crochet = 24 treble crochets. ROUND 3: * 1 treble crochet in the first treble crochet, 2 treble crochets in the next treble crochet *, work from *-* = 36 treble crochets. ROUND 4: * 1 treble crochet in each of the first 2 treble crochets, 2 treble crochets in the next treble crochet*, work from *-* = 48 treble crochets. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! ROUNDS 5-7: Continue increasing like this, i.e., increase 12 treble crochets on each round, with 1 more treble crochet between each increase on each round = 84 treble crochets. ROUND 8: Work 1 round of treble crochets and increase 4-8-10 treble crochets evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 88-92-94 treble crochets. The hat measures approx. 9 cm. Continue with 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet until the hat measures 30-30-32 cm (remember CROCHET INFORMATION when finishing the last round). Cut and fasten the strands. Fold the bottom 7 cm up to the right side. SCARF - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth. SCARF: The scarf is worked with 2 strands DROPS Alpaca and STRIPES – read description above. Work 28 CHAIN STITCHES – read description above, with colours nougat and light lavender on hook size 4.5 mm. Turn and work 1 treble crochet in the 4th chain stitch from the hook (= 2 treble crochets) - read CROCHET INFORMATION, * skip 1 chain stitch, work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 5 chain stitches *, work from *-* 3 more times = 22 treble crochets. Continue with 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Continue back and forth with stripes until the scarf measures 170cm. Cut and fasten the strands. |
