Bonjour!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- HEEL DECREASES: ROW 1 (= right side): Knit until there are 7-7-8 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn the piece. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Purl until there are 7-7-8 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to purl, purl 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn the piece. ROW 3 (= right side): Knit until there are 6-6-7 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, turn the piece. ROW 4 (= wrong side): Purl until there are 6-6-7 stitches left, slip 1 stitch as if to purl, purl 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the purled stitch, turn the piece. Continue to decrease like this, working until there is 1 stitch less each time before slipping a stitch and until there are 14-16-16 stitches left on the needle. DECREASE TIP (for toe): Start 3 stitches before the marker, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). Repeat at the other marker. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- SOCKS – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles, top down. LEG: Cast on 70-74-78 stitches with double pointed needles size 2.5 mm and DROPS Fabel. Knit 1 round. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 5 cm. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm. Knit 1 round and decrease 6 stitches evenly spaced = 64-68-72 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the leg measures 8 cm, decrease 4 stitches evenly spaced = 60-64-68 stitches. Repeat the decrease when the leg measures 11-12-13 cm = 56-60-64 stitches. Work until the leg measures 12-13-14 cm. HEEL AND FOOT: Work the first 13-14-15 stitches in stocking stitch and keep them on the needle, place the next 30-32-34 stitches on a thread (top of foot), and keep the last 13-14-15 stitches on the needle for heel = 26-28-30 heel-stitches. Work stocking stitch back and forth over the heel-stitches for 6-6-6½ cm. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the last row – the foot is measured from this marker. Work HEEL DECREASES – read description above. After the heel decreases work the next round as follows: Stocking stitch over the 14-16-16 heel-stitches, knit up 15-15-17 stitches along the side of the heel, stocking stitch over the 30-32-34 stitches from the thread and knit up 15-15-17 stitches along the other side of the heel = 74-78-84 stitches. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 30-32-34 stitches on top of foot. Continue with stocking stitch in the round and decrease on each side as follows: Knit together the last 2 stitches before the first marker and knit twisted together the first 2 stitches after the second marker. Decrease like this every round a total of 4 times, then every 2nd round 7-7-8 times = 52-56-60 stitches. Work until the foot measures 18-19-20 cm. There is 4-5-6 cm left; try the sock on and work to desired length before working the toe. TOE: Insert 1 marker on each side with 26-28-30 stitches both on top of and underneath the foot. Work stocking stitch and, on the first round, decrease on each side of both markers – read DECREASE TIP (= 4 stitches decreased). Decrease like this every 2nd round a total of 4-7-9 times then every round 6-3-2 times = 12-16-16 stitches. On the next round knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 6-8-8 stitches. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. The foot measures 22-24-26 cm from the marker, measured under the foot. Work the other sock in the same way. |
