KNITTING INFO: GARTER ST: K all rows. DECREASE TIP (applies to body): Dec 1 st by working 2 sts tog. INCREASE TIP: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO, on next row work YO twisted (i.e. work in back loop of st instead front) to avoid holes. PATTERN: See diagram M.1 (the diagram shows the pattern from RS). -------------------------------------------------------- BACK PIECE: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 89-96-105-114-122-134 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 5 mm with 1 thread Alpaca and 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work 4 rows in GARTER ST - see explanation above (1st row = RS). Then work 2 rows in stocking st with 1 edge st in garter st in each side of piece. On next row from RS work as follows: 1 edge st in garter st, 5-5-6-7-4-3 sts in stocking st, work diagram M.1 (= 7 sts) a total of 11-12-13-14-16-18 times, 5-5-6-7-4-3 sts in stocking st, finish with 1 edge st in garter st. Continue with 1 edge st (worked in garter st until finished measurements) and in stocking st in each side of piece and diagram M.1 over the remaining sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 10-11-8-7-12-17 cm, dec 1 st - Read decrease tip above - inside 1 edge st in each side of piece. Repeat dec every 8-8-7-6-12-16 cm a total of 4-4-5-6-3-2 times (piece now measures approx. 34-35-36-37-36-33 cm) = 81-88-95-102-116-130 sts (11-12-13-14-16-18 repetitions of diagram M.1 + 1 st in stocking st inside 1 edge st in each side). Work as before until piece measures 44-45-46-47-48-49 cm. Then inc for sleeve on next row from RS as follows: 1 edge st in garter st, 1 st in stocking st, inc 1 st - Read increase tip above, work until 2 sts remain on needle, inc 1 st, 1 st in stocking st, 1 edge st in garter st. NOTE: Work the inc sts gradually in the pattern. Repeat inc in each side on every row from RS a total of 14 times in all sizes = 109-116-123-130-144-158 sts (= 15-16-17-18-20-22 repetitions of diagram M.1 + 1 st in stocking st inside 1 edge st in each side). Continue to work until piece measures 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm. Read all of the following section before continuing! Now cast off for neck as follows: On next row from WS, cast off the middle 17-24-17-24-24-24 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. Cast off 2 sts on next row from neck - At the same time cast off for shoulder as follows: Cast off 14-14-17-17-19-21 sts at beg of the next 2 rows from shoulder = 16-16-17-17-20-23 sts remain on shoulder. Piece now measures approx. 68-70-72-74-76-78 cm, loosely cast off all sts. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 52-52-60-63-67-73 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 5 mm with 1 thread Alpaca and 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work 4 rows in GARTER ST (1st row = RS). Work next row from RS as follows: 18-18-18-20-20-20 sts in reverse stocking st (= P from RS) for front band, work in stocking st the entire row, finish with 1 edge st in garter st. Work next row from WS as follows: 1 edge st in garter st, work in stocking st until 18-18-18-20-20-20 sts remain, work the rest of row in reverse stocking st (= K from WS). On next row from RS work as follows: 18-18-18-20-20-20 sts in reverse stocking st, work diagram M.1 a total of 4-4-5-5-6-7 times, 5-5-6-7-4-3 sts in stocking st, finish with 1 edge st (worked in garter st until finished measurements). Continue to work pattern with stocking st in the side and reverse stocking st on band. When piece measures 10-11-8-7-12-17 cm, beg dec in stocking st in the side as on back piece = 48-48-55-57-64-71 sts (= 4-4-5-5-6-7 repetitions of diagram M.1 + 1 st in stocking st inside 1 edge st in the side). When piece measures 44-45-46-47-48-49 cm, inc for sleeve in the side inside 1 edge st and 1 st in stocking as on back piece = 62-62-69-71-78-85 sts (= 6-6-7-7-8-9 repetitions of diagram M.1 + 1 st in stocking st in the side). When piece measures 66-68-70-72-74-76 cm, cast off for shoulder at the beg of next row from WS as follows: Cast off the first 14-14-17-17-19-21 sts on the needle, work the rest of row. Repeat cast off 1 more time on next row from WS. Then cast off 16-16-17-17-20-23 sts on next row from WS = 18-18-18-20-20-20 sts remain for collar. Continue in reverse stocking st for 9-11-9-11-11-11 cm. Then cast off at beg of next 2 rows from WS as follows: Cast off the first 6 sts, work the rest of row. Then loosely cast off the remaining 6-6-6-8-8-8 sts on next row from RS. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work as right front piece but reversed. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 39-46-46-46-53-53 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 5 mm with 1 thread Alpaca and 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work 4 rows in GARTER ST (1st row = RS). Then work 2 rows in stocking st with 1 edge st (worked in garter st until finished measurements) in each side of piece. On next row from RS work as follows: 1 edge st in garter st, 1 st in stocking st, work diagram M.1 (= 7 sts) a total of 5-6-6-6-7-7 times, 1 st in stocking st, finish with 1 edge st in garter st. Continue until diagram M.1 has been worked 4 times vertically. Now work 2 rows in stocking st - At the same time inc 1-0-0-0-1-1 st on 1st row = 40-46-46-46-54-54 sts. Then work 4 rows in garter st, piece now measures approx. 10 cm. Then work in stocking st - At the same time inc 1 st inside 1 edge st in each side on next row from RS. Repeat inc every 7½-9-6½-4½-6-4½ cm a total of 5-4-5-7-5-6 times = 50-54-56-60-64-66 sts. Continue until piece measures 44-42-41-40-38-35 cm (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of broader shoulder width). Now cast off for sleeve cap in each side on every other row as follows: 4-4-4-5-5-5 sts 2 times, 5-6-6-5-6-7 sts 1 time = 24-26-28-30-32-32 sts remain. Loosely cast off all sts. Piece now measures approx. 46-44-43-42-40-37 cm. Work another sleeve. ASSEMBLY: Sew/graft shoulder seams from RS with neat stitches. Sew collar from WS tog mid back and sew on to back of neck. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams in one. |
