Knitting tension: 23 stitches x 30 with needle size 3 mm and stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm. Remember needle size is only a guide!

Rib: * K2, P2 *. Repeat from *-*.
Ridge/Garter stitch: 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows.

Decrease tip: Decrease for V-neck as follows:

Left front piece: Slip the 7th stitch, work next stitch, pass the slipped stitch over the worked stitch.

Right front piece: Work until there are 8 stitches left, work next stitch and place it back on left needle, pass the 7th stitch from the edge over the 8th stitch, place stitch over onto right needle and work the last 6 stitches on needle.
---------------------------------------------------------------

Body: The jacket is worked back and forth with circular needle. Cast on 276-288-300 stitches with circular needle size 3 mm and off white. Work rib - see description above - but the outermost stitch in each side towards mid front is worked in garter stitch upwards. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 35-36-38 cm work next row as follows: 70-73-76 stitches front piece, cast off 4 stitches for armhole, 128-134-140 stitches back piece, cast off 4 stitches for armhole, 70-73-76 stitches front piece. Each piece is finished separately.

Left front piece: = 70-73-76 stitches. Continue to decrease for armhole and neck at the same time: Armhole: Decrease every 2nd row: 3 stitches x 2-2-3, 2 stitches x 4-5-5, 1 stitch x 4-3-3 = 52-54-54 stitches. Neck: Decrease for neck inside 7 stitches (= 1 edge stitch + 6 band stitches) every 2nd row - see Decrease tip: 1 stitch x 14-14-14, then every 4th row: 1 stitch x 2-3-3 = 36-37-37 stitches left on shoulder. When piece measures 56-58-60 cm cast off the outermost 28-29-29 stitches towards shoulder and there are 8 stitches left towards mid front (= stitches for neckline and 1 edge stitch in each side). Work next row as follows: 1 stitch garter stitch, 6 stitches rib, 1 stitch garter stitch, continue in this way until neckline measures 7.5-8-8 cm. Place stitches on a thread.

Right front piece: Worked as left - but reversed - see Decrease tip for neck decreases!

Back piece: = 128-134-140 stitches. Continue to decrease for armholes as for front pieces = 92-96-96 stitches. When piece measures 54-56-58 cm cast off the middle 32-34-34 stitches for neck. Then decrease 2 stitches in each side on next row towards neck = 28-29-29 stitches left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 56-58-60 cm.

Sleeve: Cast on 64-64-68 stitches with double pointed needles size 3 mm and off white and work 2 ridges. Then work stocking stitch until piece measures 16-16-16 cm. Continue with rib - at the same time increase mid under sleeve on each side of 2 knitted stitches: 1 stitch x 11-13-11 every 3-2.5-3 cm = 86-90-90 stitches. The increased stitches are worked into the rib as you go. When piece measures 48-50-49 cm cast off 4 stitches mid under sleeve and finish working back and forth on needle. Continue to decrease to sleeve cap on each side every 2nd row: 3 stitches x 1, 2 stitches x 3, then decrease 1 stitch in each side every 2nd row until piece measures 60-62-63 cm. Then decrease in each side every 2nd row: 2 stitches x 2, 3 stitches x 1, cast off. Piece measures 62-64-65 cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew together the neck-stitches from the threads mid back with grafting stitches and sew the collar to the neck at back with the seam on wrong side.

Crochet edge: Work with hook size 3 mm and off white a row of double crochets around body and neck - work in outermost stitch/ridge. On left piece work a row of double crochets along band up to the V-neck. On right band work 8 buttonholes evenly spread upwards - first buttonhole starts 3 cm from bottom edge. 1 buttonhole = 2 chain stitches, skip 2 double crochets from previous row and fasten with 1 double crochet, between buttonholes work double crochets.

Embroidery: At the bottom of each sleeve, on the stocking stitch section, embroider according to Fig.1. Start by crocheting a chain-stitch cord for the stem of approx. 22 cm with hook size 3 mm and colour alternative 1. Cut strand, start 5 cm in from the end of the cord and work a new chain stitch cord of 5 cm. Fasten the stem (cord) with pins at the bottom of the one side of the sleeve - according to diagram - fasten the stem with colour alternative 1. Sew on flowers and leaves according to colour alternative 1. Work the same Fig.1 in colour alternative 2 and sew this on in the opposite way on the other side of the cuff. Repeat on the other sleeve. Sew in sleeves and sew on buttons.

Colour alternative 1:

Crochet cord, i.e. stem = heather, no 39.
Sewing on of stem and leaves = light plum, no 33.
Petals on flower = dark purple, no 38.

Colour alternative 2:
Crochet cord, i.e. stem = light plum, no 33.
Sewing on of stem and leaves = dark purple, no 38.
Petals on flower = heather, no 39.
