INFORMATION FOR PATTERN:

PATTERN:
See diagrams A.1 and A.2 for assembly.

DOMINO SQUARE:
ROW 1 (= wrong side): Knit all stitches.
ROW 2 (= right side): Knit until stitch with marker thread, make 1 yarn over, knit 1 (= stitch with marker thread), make 1 yarn over, knit the rest of row (= 2 stitches increased). On next row knit yarn overs to make holes.
Repeat 1st and 2nd row - increase 2 stitches in the middle of square every other row (i.e. every row from right side).

SQUARE COLOURS:
Work cast on with first colour in square. Finish squares with 2 rows in first colour on square.

SQUARE 1 (3 pieces):
* Work 2 rows with light camel, 2 rows with blue/purple *, repeat from *-*.

SQUARE 2 (6 pieces):
* Work 2 rows with dark pink, 2 rows with maroon *, repeat from *-*.

SQUARE 3 (3 pieces):
* Work 2 rows with light camel, 2 rows with dark pink *, repeat from *-*.

SQUARE 4 (6 pieces):
* Work 2 rows with rust, 2 rows with light maroon *, repeat from *-*.

SQUARE 5 (3 pieces):
* Work 2 rows with light camel, 2 rows with light maroon *, repeat from *-*.

----------------------------------------------------------

BLANKET:
Work 60 squares in total in 15 different colour combinations. Work 3 or 6 squares in every colour combination.

SQUARE:
Cast on 3 stitches on needle size 4 mm with Alpaca - read SQUARE COLOURS. Insert 1 marker thread in the middle stitch. Knit 2 rows. Then work DOMINO SQUARE – see explanation above. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Work until square measures 14 x 14 cm - finish after 2 rows with same colour as cast-on. Cast off - NOTE: In the corner on each side of middle stitch cast off with yarn overs (i.e. cast off 1 stitch, make 1 yarn over and cast off yarn over). Cut the yarn, leave approx. 35 cm - this is used for assembly.

ASSEMBLY:
See diagram A.1 on how to place the squares. Place the squares in the same direction with 10 squares in width and 6 squares vertically. Use thread from square and sew together squares 2 by 2 with neat, little stitches - see diagram A.2.

This pattern has been corrected. .

Updated online: 04.05.2018
Correction: Increased the yarn amount in DROPS Alpaca color 2020.

When I follow the pattern for the domino squares (2 yarn overs every other row) I simply get a triangle. Am I missing something in the pattern?

DROPS Design 18.06.2018 kl. 08:28:

Dear Julia, continue increasing 2 sts in the middle of domino square until you get the correct number of sts and you will get a square. You can findn here some pictures showing how to knit such a domino square. Happy knitting!

Anna 24.05.2018 - 21:48:

Tak for info!

Tove Örjansdotter 10.01.2018 - 21:55:

Hej!
