Gauge: 23 sts x 30 rows on larger needles in pattern = 10 x 10 cm .

Pattern: See charts (1 chart = 1 repeat). The pattern is seen from the right side and is knit entirely in stockinette st and arrows indicate the starting points for different sizes.

Rib: * K 1, P 1 *. Repeat from * - *.

Garter st, when knitting in the round: *Rnd 1, knit. Rnd 2, purl.* Repeat from * - *.

Body: Cast on 270-290 (302-318) sts with black on smaller circular needles; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 2 rows garter st, rib for 6 cm , then 2 rows garter st. Change to larger circular needles and knit 4 rows stockinette st, Pattern 4 once, and then stockinette st with black. Attach a marker at the other side. Front and back each = 135-145 (151-159) sts. When the work measures 32-33 (34-36) cm , knit Pattern 1 - start at the appropriate arrow on the chart and knit pattern across the front, start at the arrow again and knit across the back. When the work measures 42-44 (45-48) cm , increase 5 sts at each side (these sts are for the steeks and are not knit into the pattern). After Pattern 1 knit stockinette st again with black. When the work measures 63-65 (67-70) cm , bind off the center front 31-31 (33-33) sts for the neck and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Bind off at each neck edge every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 3 times. At the same time, when the work measures 66-68 (70-73) cm , knit Pattern 2 and at the same time bind off the center back 45-45 (47-47) sts for the neck. Bind off at each back neck edge every other row: 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 1 time. Bind off all sts after Pattern 2 - the work measures approx. 68-70 (72-75) cm .

Sleeves: Cast on 58-62 (62-64) sts on smaller double pointed needles with black; join and place a marker at the join. Knit 2 rows garter st, rib for 6 cm , then 2 rows garter st. Change to larger double pointed needles and knit 4 rows stockinette st, increasing 1 st on the first row = 59-63 (63-65) sts. After the rib, inc 1 st each side of marker 31-29 (31-30) times every 4th row = 121-121 (125-125) sts. After the 4 rows stockinette st, knit Pattern 4 once, then stockinette st with black again until the sleeve measures 30-30 (30-31) cm . Then knit Pattern 3, centering the pattern on the sleeve, with the remaining sts on each row in black. After Pattern 3 is complete, knit stockinette st with black to finished dimensions. When the work measures 51-51 (51-52) cm , put 4 sts each side of marker on a stitch holder and knit the rest back and forth on the needles. Then put sts on a stitch holder for sleeve caps on each side every other row: 9 sts 4 times. The work measures approx. 54-54 (54-55) cm . Put the sts from the stitch holder back on the needles and knit 2 cm reverse stockinette st for a seam allowance over the cut edge on the body, bind off.

Assembly: Sew a marker thread down into the center of the steek sts on each side. Sew two machine seams around the marker thread, first seam = ½ stitch from the thread, 2nd seam = ½ stitch from the first seam. Cut up for armholes. Sew shoulder seams.
Pick up approx. 110-120 sts around the neck on smaller double pointed needles with black; join and knit 2 rows stockinette st, Pattern 2 once, purl 1 row (= folding edge), 9 rows stockinette st, bind off. Fold the neck edge over against the wrong side and sew. Sew the sleeves to the body from the right side as follows: Sew alternately a stitch in the last row of knitting on the sleeve before the seam allowance and a stitch on the body after the machine seam. Turn the sweater inside out and sew the seam allowance from the sleeve over the cut edge on the body by hand.

Do you have the pattern for the women's sweater pictured here?

DROPS Design 02.02.2018 kl. 08:31:

Dear Mrs Byrd, you will find it here. Happy knitting!

Willy Groenendijk 05.10.2013 - 21:42:
