JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The neck is worked in the round from mid back with circular needle, then the neckline back and forth with circular needle and with short rows. The yoke is worked in the round with circular needle before being divided for the body and sleeves and the body finished in the round with circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round with short circular needle/double pointed needles.
NECK:
Cast on 80-80-84-88-92-92 stitches with short circular needle size 6 mm and DROPS Snow. Work rib in the round as follows: Knit 1, * purl 2, knit 2 *, work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left on the round, purl 2 and knit 1. Continue this rib for 10-10-11-11-12-12 cm.
Knit 1 round and decrease 24-24-24-28-28-28 stitches evenly spaced = 56-56-60-60-64-64 stitches.
Insert 4 markers which are used when increasing for raglan, without working the stitches, as follows:
Count 7-7-8-8-9-9 stitches (half back piece), insert marker-1 in the next stitch, count 12 stitches (sleeve), insert marker-2 in the next stitch, count 14-14-16-16-18-18 stitches (front piece), insert marker-3 in the next stitch, count 12 stitches (sleeve), insert marker-4 in the next stitch. There are 7-7-8-8-9-9 stitches left after the last marker (half back piece). Cut the strand.
NECKLINE:
Change to circular needle size 9 mm and work short rows for the neckline AT THE SAME TIME as you increase for raglan as described below. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION.
ROW 1 (right side): Start 2 stitches before marker-stitch 3 (front left of neck when the garment is worn). Knit and increase for RAGLAN on each side of all 4 marker-stitches – read description above, until you have worked 2 stitches past marker-stitch 2 (right front of neck = 8 increased stitches). Turn, tighten the strand.
ROW 2 (wrong side): Purl (remember the yarn overs are worked twisted as described above), until you have worked to 2 stitches past where the short rows started by marker-stitch 3. Turn, tighten the strand.
ROW 3 (right side): Knit and increase for raglan on each side of all 4 markers until you have worked to 2 stitches past where you turned by marker-stitch 2 (= 8 increased stitches). Turn, tighten the strand.
ROW 4 (wrong side): Purl until you have worked to 2 stitches past where you turned last time by marker-stitch 3. Turn, tighten the strand.
ROW 5 (right side): Knit and increase for raglan on each side of all 4 markers until you have worked to 2 stitches past where you turned by marker-stitch 2. Turn, tighten the strand.
ROW 6 (wrong side): Purl until you have worked to 2 stitches past where you turned last time by marker-stitch 3. Cut the strand.
The short rows are finished, and you have increased 3 times for raglan on each side of all 4 markers.
YOKE:
= 80-80-84-84-88-88 stitches. Start mid-back and work stocking stitch in the round. AT THE SAME TIME continue increasing for raglan in the different sizes as described below:
SIZES S, M, L and XXXL:
Increase for raglan every 2nd round, but every 2nd time you increase is only on the front and back pieces (i.e., every 2nd round increase on the front and back pieces, every 4th round increase on the sleeves as well, alternately 4 and 8 increased stitches). Increase like this 10-12-14-18 times on the front/back piece and 5-6-7-9 times on the sleeves = 140-152-168-196 stitches.
The sleeve-increases are finished. Continue to increase on the front/back piece 2-2-0-1 more times = 148-160-168-200 stitches. The body and sleeve-increases are now finished.
SIZES XL and XXL:
Increase for raglan on each side of the 4 marker-stitches, every 2nd round, 2-1 times = 100-96 stitches. Then continue to increase but every 2nd increase is only on the front and back pieces (i.e., every 2nd round increase on the front and back pieces, every 4th round increase on the sleeves as well, alternately 4 and 8 increased stitches). Increase like this 14-16 times on the front/back piece and 7-8 times on the sleeves = 184-192 stitches. The body and sleeve-increases are now finished.
ALL SIZES:
= 148-160-168-184-192-200 stitches. The yoke measures approx. 21-24-24-27-29-31 cm, measured after the rib mid-back. If the piece is shorter than this, continue working to the correct length.
Divide for the body and sleeves as follows:
Knit 23-25-26-28-30-32 (half back piece), place the next 28-30-32-36-36-36 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-12 stitches (in side under sleeve), knit 46-50-52-56-60-64 (front piece), place the next 28-30-32-36-36-36 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-12 stitches (in side under sleeve), knit 23-25-26-28-30-32 (half back piece). Finish the body and sleeves separately. The piece is now measured from here!
BODY:
= 104-112-120-128-140-152 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch in the round for a further 22-21-23-22-22-22 cm.
Knit 1 round and increase 32-32-36-40-44-44 stitches evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 136-144-156-168-184-196 stitches.
Change to circular needle size 6 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 5 cm. Cast off a little loosely. The jumper measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm from the shoulder.
SLEEVES:
Place the 28-30-32-36-36-36 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on short circular needle/double pointed needles size 9 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the de 6-6-8-8-10-12 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 34-36-40-44-46-48 stitches. Insert a marker in the middle of the new stitches under the sleeve = start of the round.
Continue stocking stitch in the round.
When the sleeve measures 4-4-4-2-3-3 cm decrease 1 stitch before the marker-thread – read DECREASE TIP. When the sleeve measures 9-9-7½-4½-5-5 cm, decrease 1 stitch after the marker-thread – remember DECREASE TIP. Decrease alternately before and after the marker-thread every 5-5-3½-2½-2-2 cm a total of 6-6-8-12-12-12 times (3-3-4-6-6-6 times before and 3-3-4-6-6-6 times after the marker-thread) = 28-30-32-32-34-36 stitches. When the sleeve measures 35-33-33-31-29-28 cm from the division knit 1 round and increase 16-18-20-20-18-20 stitches evenly spaced = 44-48-52-52-52-56 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 6 mm and work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 10 cm. Cast off a little loosely. The sleeve measures approx. 45-43-43-41-39-38 cm from the division.
Work the other sleeve in the same way.
