SOCK – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:
The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles, top down.
The length of the sock is matching the length of the foot. If you want the sock to be stretched a little when wearing it, the length of the sock can be knitted a little shorter before decreasing for the toe.
LEG:
Cast on 44-44-52-52-60-60-68 stitches with double pointed needles size 3 mm and colour light beige brown DROPS Karisma. Knit 1 round, then work 1 round of rib (knit 1, purl 1). Change to colour lemon and continue with rib until the piece measures 3-3-3-3-4-4-5 cm. Knit 1 round where you decrease 4 stitches evenly spaced = 40-40-48-48-56-56-64 stitches.
Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm. Work A.1, 5-5-6-6-7-7-8 times in width on the round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION!
On the round with arrow-1 decrease 2-0-2-0-4-4-4 stitches evenly spaced = 38-40-46-48-52-52-60 stitches.
When A.1 is finished in height, continue with stocking stitch and colour light dusty pink until the piece measures 16-16-17-17-18-18-19 cm – AT THE SAME TIME, on the last round decrease 0-0-0-0-4-0-4 stitches evenly spaced = 38-40-46-48-48-52-56 stitches. Cut the strand.
HEEL AND FOOT:
Keep the first 10-10-12-12-12-13-14 stitches on the needle for the heel, place the next 19-21-23-25-25-27-29 stitches on a thread (top of foot) and keep the last 9-9-11-11-11-12-13 stitches on the needle for the heel = 19-19-23-23-23-25-27 heel-stitches.
Work 2 rows of stocking stitch back and forth with colour medium pink. Then work pattern as follows from the right side:
SIZES 24/25 - 26/28 - 29/31 - 32/34 - 35/37:
Knit 4-4-6-6-6 with colour medium pink, work A.2, knit 4-4-6-6-6 with colour medium pink.
SIZES 38-40 - 41/43:
Knit 6-7 with colour medium pink, work A.3, knit 6-7 with colour medium pink.
ALL SIZES:
When A.2/A.3 are finished in height, continue with stocking stitch and colour medium pink until the heel measures 5-5-5½-5½-6-6-6½ cm.
Insert 1 marker in the middle of the last row – the foot is measured from this marker.
Work HEEL DECREASES with colour medium pink – read description above
After the heel decreases continue with colour light dusty pink as follows: Knit the 7-9-9-9-11-13-15 heel stitches, knit up 11-11-12-12-13-13-14 stitches along one side of the heel, knit the 19-21-23-25-25-27-29 stitches from the thread and knit up 11-11-12-12-13-13-14 stitches along the other side of the heel = 48-52-56-58-62-66-72 stitches. Work to the middle of the heel – the round now starts from here.
Insert 1 marker on each side of the 19-21-23-25-25-27-29 stitches on top of the foot.
Work stocking stitch in the round with colour light dusty pink and decrease on each side as follows: Knit together the last 2 stitches before the first marker and knit twisted together the first 2 stitches after the second marker.
Decrease like this every round a total of 3 times, then every 2nd round 3-5-5-6-6-6-7 times = 36-36-40-40-44-48-52 stitches.
Continue working until the foot measures 9-11-12-14-16-17-19 cm from the marker on the heel and measured under the foot. Work A.4. When A.4 is finished continue with stocking stitch and colour light beige brown until the foot measures 11-13-14-16-18-19-21 cm – AT THE SAME TIME on the last round decrease 2-0-2-0-2-2-2 stitches evenly spaced = 34-36-38-40-42-46-50 stitches. There is approx. 4-4-4-4-4-5-5 cm left; try the sock on and work to desired length
TOE:
Insert 1 marker on each side, with 17-18-19-20-21-23-25 stitches on top of and underneath the foot. Work stocking stitch with colour light beige brown. AT THE SAME TIME, on the first round decrease on each side of both markers – read DECREASE TIP (= 4 stitches decreased). Decrease like this every 2nd round a total of 6-6-6-5-5-5-5 times, then every round 0-1-1-3-3-4-5 times = 10-8-10-8-10-10-10 stitches.
Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well.
The foot measures approx. 15-17-18-20-22-24-26 cm measured under the foot.
Work the other sock in the same way.
