Rib: *K1 into back of st, P1*, repeat from *-*.
Pattern: See diagrams M.1-M.5. The entire pattern is worked in stocking st.

Front and back piece: Knitted in the round on circular needles and cut for armholes afterwards. Cast on 130-138 (144-152-160) sts on circular needle size 2.5mm with black and knit 5 cm Rib. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and continue in stocking st, at the same time inc 30-34 (40-44-48) sts evenly on round = 160-172 (184-196-208) sts. Continue in M.1 - remember the knitting tension. When piece measures 20-23 (25-27-27) cm inc 5 sts each side for armhole (to be cut for armholes afterwards and not included in pattern). When piece measures 22-25 (27-29-31) cm knit M.2 – beg by arrow in diagram and knit pattern on front piece, beg by arrow again and knit pattern on back piece. After M.2 continue in M.3 – beg by arrow. After 2 rounds in M.3, knit M.4 on the middle 23 sts on front piece – (Select letters from M.5), and then continue in M.3. When piece measures 36-38 (42-44-46) cm cast off 36-38 (42-44-46) sts mid front for neck and complete each side separately. At the same time, when piece measures 38-41 (45-47-49) cm cast off 42-42 (44-46-48) sts mid back for neck and complete each side separately. Cast off remaining sts when piece measures 40-43 (47-49-51) cm.

Sleeve: Knitted round on double pointed needles. Cast on 30-32 (34-36-36) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with black and knit 5 cm Rib. Change to needle size 4 mm and continue in stocking st, at the same time inc 10-10 (10-12-14) sts evenly on round = 40-42 (44-48-50) sts. Now knit M.2 – make sure to place a pattern repeat mid upper sleeve. At the same time, inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 20-19 (22-20-23) times as follows:
Size 3/4 years: on every 2nd and 3rd round alternately
Size 5/6 years: on every *3rd, 3rd and 4th round * alternately
Size 7/8 years: on every 3rd round
Size 9/10 years: on every 4thd round
Size 11/12 years: on every *3rd , 4th and 4th * round alternately
= 80-80 (88-88-96) sts. After M.2, complete sleeve in M.1. When sleeve measures 26-30 (33-37-40) cm knit 2 cm in reverse stocking st = edge for sewing on sleeve to body piece. Cast off and knit the other sleeve.

Assembly: Insert a marking thread in the middle of the inc sts for armhole each side. Make 2 seams each side on your sewing machine, the first seam ½ st from the MT and the other one ½ st from the first one. Cut the piece between these. Sew shoulder seams.
Neckline: Pick up 132-132 (136-142-144) sts round the neck on needle size 3.5 mm with black as follows: 46-46 (48-51-52) sts along front and back pieces and 20 sts on each side. Now knit neck as follows: 3 cm stocking st, at the same time dec at each corner as follows: knit until 3 sts before corner, put the middle st on cable needle in front of piece, knit tog the first and last st, pass over middle st. After 3 cm, P 1 round = folding edge, knit 3 cm stocking st, at the same time inc 2 sts in each corner on every round. Cast off, fold neck double towards WS and fasten.

Set in sleeves from the RS as follows: sew in the last row before the edge in reverse stocking sts on sleeves to the first row after the seam in the sts for cutting on body piece. Turn the jumper inside out and sew the piece in stocking sts over the cutting edge on body piece.
