Hello! I have attempted the baby shawl and can't seem to make the center look beautiful. I have been using stitch markers and it is difficult to get the yarn over in the correct place. I have never used thread or yarn as a marker as you suggest, perhaps this is the problem? I watched the video on it and am not sure how that would work with this pattern. Thank you.
08.02.2024 - 08:51DROPS Design answered:
Dear Lorna, use any system to mark the middle stitch, that's not a problem, you just have to increase 4 sts on every row from RS (1 inside 1 stitch on each side + 1 on each side of middle stitch) and 2 sts on every row from WS (1 stitch inside 1 stitch in each side). Happy knitting!

Hello, I am knitting the baby shawl from this pattern. I understand how to work the yarn on or forward to increase a stitch and also that it then creates a hole as shown down the middle of the shawl in the photos. However when using the yarn on method at the beginning and end of every row the two sides end up with holey lacey edges and not at all as the edges are shown on the photos, please help. Thank you.
07.01.2024 - 18:33DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sallie, you can see in the third photo the complete shawl; the ends of the rows are the upper horizontal line of the shawl and it has holes. The edges seen on the baby are the last row of the shawl, so it doesn't have these end-of-row holes. The edge will holes will be wrapped up around the neck, so they won't be visible when wearing the piece. Happy knitting!

Mach ich evtl. was falsch beim Umschlag?
03.01.2023 - 20:45DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Jv, es sind 15 Maschen auf der Nadel und so stricken Sie diese 15 Maschen: 1 Masche rechts, 1 Umschlag, 6 Maschen rechts, 1 Umschlag, 1 Masche rechts, 1 Umschlag, 6 Maschen rechts, 1 Umschlag und 1 Masche rechts = 1+6+1+6+1= 15 Maschen + 4 Umschläge = 19 Maschen. Viel Spaß beim stricken!
