Reply to: "Dear Stine, DROPS Air is usually worked with..." Dear Drops, As mentioned that is exactly what I did, which left me with a far too wide circumference on the hat. In the pattern it says that gauge should be measured in stockinette stitch. Is this correct? As mentioned I've knit several gauge swatches and only hit the desired gauge of 12 stitches per 10 cm. width in stockinette stitch with a size 4.5 mm needle, despite the fact that I normally knit rather tightly.
18.12.2018 - 15:58DROPS Design answered:
Dear Stine, there is nothing wrong in the pattern, tension is individual and the needle size only guiding - 2 strands yarn group C as Air = 1 strand yarn group E - you can find the same tension for the hat Royal Embrace. Try to adjust the needle size to get the required tension, your DROPS store may have some tips and advices for you, do not hesitate to contact them even per mail or telephone. Happy knitting!

I'm wondering if there is a mistake in the pattern regarding needle size. I had to change the needles to a size 4.5 mm to get the right gauge (after knitting several gauge swatches). And I definitely do not knit loosely. Quite the opposite actually. So I wonder if there is a mistake in the pattern? I'm knitting with two strands of Drops Air on 4.5 mm needles (KnitPro Symphony) to get a gauge of 12 stitches in width on 10 cm knitting.
18.12.2018 - 12:40DROPS Design answered:
Dear Stine, DROPS Air is usually worked with needle size 5 (single thread) and you then should get a tension of 17 sts for 10 cm - using double strand, you will need here larger needles (= size 7 mm) or the size you will require to get 12 sts = 10 cm in width working with 2 strands of Air held together. Happy knitting!

Håber I forstår spørgsmålet :)
01.12.2018 - 01:59DROPS Design answered:

Hei Mia. Det betyr at du skal gjenta A.1 4 ganger etterhverandre rundt på omgangen, slik at du strikker mønsteret over alle 72 maskene.

Bon tricot!
