Hello! I would like to crochet some of your patterns in 100% cotton yarn or maybe a cotton blend. Could you tell me if any of your group B or group C cotton yarns are easier to crochet with than others. Some cotton yarns split and make crocheting very difficult. Thank you in advance for your help!
14.06.2023 - 01:13DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Castaneda, this pattern has been worked with a yarn group C (Paris), click on our yarn converter to see more alternatives - find our blankets worked with a yarn group B here (add more filters if needed) - and use the yarn converter to see the alternatives. For more individual assistance choosing the best matching yarn, you are welcome to contact your DROPS Store, they will help you even per mail or telephone. Happy crocheting!

Do you need to block the squares for this throw - have been reading that it gives a more professional finish
18.09.2021 - 06:36DROPS Design answered:
Dear Jennifer, even if it is not absolutely necessary, blocking always gives a more "orderly" more "finished" look to any knitted or crocheted piece. Happy Stitching!

Hello, I have just received my Drops Paris cotton to crochet this beautiful blanket but now I look at the pattern again I do not understand it! I cannot follow the diagram easily so is there a written pattern for the square instead of the diagram? I hope so, if not I shall have to look for another pattern. Thank you
18.07.2019 - 12:20DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Ledger, there is no written pattern to this diagram, but you will find here how to read a crochet diagram - see Full Circle. Happy crocheting!

Crochet blanket with squares in DROPS Paris.
DROPS 175-16 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.3. A.3 shows how the blanket is crocheted together. SQUARE COLOURS: Casting on and rounds 1, 2 and 5 are the same for all squares. Rounds 3 and 4 are worked in the square’s colour. CAST ON + ROUND 1: mustard ROUND 2: white ROUND 5: apricot SQUARE 1: Work 8 squares with light pink. SQUARE 2: Work 10 squares with shocking pink. SQUARE 3: Work 10 squares with heather. SQUARE 4: Work 3 squares with medium pink. SQUARE 5: Work 6 squares with apricot. SQUARE 6: Work 8 squares with peach. SQUARE 7: Work 9 squares with raspberry. COLOUR CHANGE TIP: To get the neatest transition when changing colours work the last slip stitch of the round with the new colour as follows: Insert the hook in the first chain stitch from the beginning of the round, work 1 yarn over with the new colour and pull the yarn through the loop on the hook. Fasten the strands as you go. ---------------------------------------------------------- BLANKET: The blanket consists of 54 squares with 7 different colour combinations – READ SQUARE COLOURS. SQUARE: Crochet with hook size 5 mm and Paris. Work A.1 – READ COLOUR CHANGE TIP. REMEMBER CROCHET TENSION! ASSEMBLY: Lay the squares out with the right square number as shown in A.2 (6 squares in width and 9 squares in length). The squares are worked together in strips first length-wise, then in width - see A.3 (A.3 shows the corners of 4 squares). Work them in to strips as follows: Put 2 squares together wrong side to wrong side and work through both layers with apricot as follows: 1 double crochet around the corner, * 4 chain stitches, 1 double crochet around the next chain space *, repeat from *-* as far as the corner (= 5 chain spaces), work 4 chain stitches (= transition to the next 2 squares). Continue in the same way until all the squares are worked across. Cut the strand on each strip. CROCHET BORDER: To finish, work a border around the whole blanket in apricot as follows: Start in one corner. Work * 1 double crochet around the chain space in the corner, 4 chain stitches, 1 double crochet around the same corner, 4 chain stitches, (1 double crochet around the next chain space, 4 chain stitches), repeat from (-) to the next corner of the blanket *, repeat from *-* along the next 3 sides, finish with 1 slip stitch in the first double crochet at the beginning of the round. |
