GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. The diagram shows all rows in pattern seen from RS. KNITTING TIP: When K 2 tog in short rows, make sure not to work sts too loose. ---------------------------------------------------------- CARPET 90 CM: Work carpet in GARTER ST – see explanation above, with a lace pattern edge between every repetition. Cast on 50 sts on needle size 7 mm with 3 strands Paris. Work A.1 over the first 10 sts from RS (work A.1 over the outermost sts until finished measurements) and in garter st over the remaining sts. AT THE SAME TIME work short rows over 40 sts as follows – read KNITTING TIP above – 1st row (= RS): Work ridges until 3 sts remain, K 2 tog, turn and work back. Work until 4 sts remain, K 2 tog, turn and work back, work until 5 sts remain, K 2 tog, turn and work back, work until 6 sts remain, K 2 tog, turn and work back. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Continue like this until 19 ridges have been worked, and 1 st less has been worked for every short row. 3 sts remain on needle (incl sts in A.1). Work next row over all sts as follows (from RS): A.1 (i.e. K 2 tog) 1 st in garter st, * 1 st in garter st (the one previously worked K 2 tog), 1 YO *, repeat from *-* until 1 st remains, finish with 1 st in garter st, turn and work back (cast on 9 new sts at the end of row - see diagram). NOTE! Do not work YOs twisted on this row, they should make holes. 1 repetition has been worked on carpet and 2 repetitions of A.1 in edge = 50 sts on needle. ASSEMBLY: Sew a yarn through all edge sts in the middle and tighten tog. Fasten the yarn tightly. Sew tog the cast-on and cast-off edge. CARPET 127 CM: Work carpet in GARTER ST – see explanation above, with a lace pattern edge between every repetition. Cast on 70 sts on needle size 7 mm with 3 strands Paris. Work A.1 over the first 10 sts from RS (work A.1 over the outermost sts until finished measurements) and in garter st over the remaining sts. AT THE SAME TIME work short rows over 60 sts as follows – read KNITTING TIP above – 1st row (= RS): Work ridges until 3 sts remain, K 2 tog, turn and work back. Work until 4 sts remain, K 2 tog, turn and work back, work until 5 sts remain, K 2 tog, turn and work back, work until 6 sts remain, K 2 tog, turn and work back. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Continue like this until 29 ridges have been worked, and 1 st less has been worked for every short row. 3 sts remain on needle (incl A.1).
