30.01.2022 - 19:55DROPS Design answered:
Hei Eva.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge in height = Knit 2 rows. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- VEST – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth in sections which are sewn together at the shoulder. Then stitches are knitted up for the neck. Side pieces are worked and sewn on to finish. The back piece is 6 cm longer than the front piece. BACK PIECE: Cast on 68-72-76-80 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and Alpaca Bouclé. Purl 1 row (= wrong side). Then work rib as follows from the right side: Work 3 stitches in GARTER STITCH – read description above, * knit 2 / purl 2 *, work from *-* until there are 5 stitches left on the row, knit 2 and finish with 3 stitches in garter stitch. Work this rib for 4 cm. Continue with garter stitch over all stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 52-54-58-62 cm, cast off the middle 28-30-32-34 stitches for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Then cast off 1 stitch on the next row from the neck = 19-20-21-22 stitches on the shoulder. When the piece measures 54-56-60-64 cm cast off. Work the other shoulder in the same way. FRONT PIECE: Cast on 68-72-76-80 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and Alpaca Bouclé. Purl 1 row (= wrong side). Then work rib as follows from the right side: Work 3 stitches in garter stitch, * knit 2 / purl 2 *, work from *-* until there are 5 stitches left on the row, knit 2 and finish with 3 stitches in garter stitch. Work this rib for 4 cm. Continue with garter stitch over all stitches. When the piece measures 42-44-48-52 cm place the middle 22-24-26-28 stitches on 1 thread for the neck and each shoulder is finished separately. Continue by casting off stitches at the beginning of each row from the neck as follows: 2 stitches 1 time and 1 stitch 2 times = 19-20-21-22 stitches on the shoulder. When the piece measures 48-50-54-58 cm cast off. Work the other shoulder in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. NECK: Start from the right side, at the one shoulder seam and knit up, using short circular needle size 4.5 mm, approx. 84 to 104 stitches (including the 22-24-26-28 stitches from the thread) around the neck (the number of stitches should be divisible by 4). Work rib, knit 2 / purl 2, for 18 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. If desired, the rib can be folded to make double neck. SIDE PIECE: The side piece is worked back and forth and sewn on to finish. Cast on 10 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm. Work rib, knit 2 / purl 2, for 7 cm then work a buttonhole as follows: Work 4 stitches, cast off the next 2 stitches and work 4 stitches. On the next row cast on 2 stitches over the cast-off stitches. Continue working until the piece measures 10 cm then cast off. Sew the cast-on edge to the side of the front piece, approx. 30-32-34-36 cm from the shoulder – see photo. Sew a button onto the back piece approx. 33-35-37-39 cm from the shoulder. Work a second side piece. |
