Hi Sally! If you think it is hard to decide what size to make, if can be a good idea to measure a sweater you have and like the size of. Then you can pick the size by looking at the schematic drawing at the bottom of the pattern and find the correct size there. Happy knitting!

What size was knitted for picture. It seems quite long. I would like It long. Would I just knit the bigger size? Thanks, Annabel

Knitted DROPS vest worked in a circle in garter st with lace pattern in "Alpaca" and "Kid-Silk". Size: S - XXXL.
DROPS 148-5 |
||||||||||||||||
PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. GARTER ST (in the round on circular needle): 1 ridge = 2 rounds. * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. --------------------------------------------------------- VEST: Worked in the round in a circle from mid back. Cast on 7 sts with 1 thread Alpaca and 1 thread Kid-Silk and distribute them on 4 double pointed needles size 6 mm. K 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME K 2 sts in every st = 14 sts. Insert 7 markers in the piece, 2 sts apart. 1st marker = at beg of round = back of neck. P 1 round. On next round K while AT THE SAME TIME working 2 sts in every other st = 21 sts. P 1 round. On next round work 2 sts in every 3rd st = 28 sts. P 1 round. Then work according to A.1, work 1 repetition over the 4 sts between every marker. When A.1 has been worked, continue according to A.2. After A.2 continue the pattern in A.2 the same way with 7 inc every other round, work the inc sts in pattern. Switch to circular needle size 6 mm when needed. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 23-24-25-26-27-28 cm from centre, work 3 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above - over all sts. NOTE! Continue inc every other round, inc with one YO after every marker = 7 inc. There are now approx. 30-31-32-33-34-35 sts between every marker (= 210-217-224-231-238-245 sts in total). K until the second marker. Cast off all sts between second and third marker (= approx. 30-31-32-33-34-35 sts). Work until 6th marker. Cast off all sts until 7th marker (= approx. 30-31-32-33-34-35 sts). Work until first marker. P 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME casting on same no of sts that was cast off over the cast off sts = approx. 210-217-224-231-238-245 sts. Work 2 ridges – there are now 3 ridges on each side of armhole. Continue with A.2 and inc for 14-15-16-17-18-19 cm, work 6 ridges with inc, work A.2 with inc for 14-15-16-17-18-19 cm, finish with 6 ridges with inc. There are now approx. 376-396-416-436-456-476 sts on round. Cast off. |
