Dear Mrs Barnes, in size L, you repeat 5 times the diagram : 5 x 17 sts = 85 + 1 edge st each side = 87 sts. Did you have a look on the video for the Wave pattern - see link at the very bottom of the pattern- it should help you to visualize how to do it. Don't hesitate to put markers between each repeat to keep the correct pattern. Happy knitting!

Je moet het telpatroon lezen als volgt: 3 keer 2 st r samen breien (6 st worden 3), brei 5 keer 1 omsl, 1 r en eindig met 1 omsl (in totaal 6 omslagen) en brei 3 keer 2 st r samen (6 st worden 3). Op deze manier houdt u hetzelfde aantal st op de nld.

Knitting tension: 17 sts x 22 rows on needle size 5.5 mm stocking st = 10 x 10 cm. Pattern: See diagram M.1. Pattern diagram seen from RS. Garter st forth and back : Knit all rows. Decreasing tip (applies to neckline): Make all dec on RS. Dec as follows before 5 front edge sts: K2 tog. Dec as follows after 5 front edge sts: Slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso. Back piece: Cast on 70-70-87-87-104 sts (incl 1 edge st on each side) over 2 needles (needle size 5 mm and size 5.5 mm) with Bomull-Lin. (Cast on 2 needles to ensure elasticity of cast on edge). Pull out needle size 5.5 mm and knit 4 rows garter sts on needle size 5 mm. Continuing knit M.1 – see explanation above with 1 edge st each side. When piece measures 20 cm adjust number of sts to 63-71-77-85-94 sts and continue in stocking sts on needle size 5.5 mm. At the same time when piece measures 20-22-23-25-26 cm inc by 1 st for sleeves on each side on every other row: 17 times in total = 97-105-111-119-128 st. Cast off when piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm. Right front piece: Cast on 40-40-40-57-57 sts (incl 1 edge st on side and 5 front band sts at mid front) on 2 needles (needle size 5 mm and size 5.5 mm) with Bomull-Lin. Pull out needle size 5.5 mm and knit 4 rows garter sts with needle size 5 mm. Continuing knit M.1 – see explanation above with 1 edge st on side and 5 sts garter st at mid front. When piece measures 20 cm adjust sts to 37-41-44-48-53 sts, continuing knit stocking sts on needle size 5.5 mm with 5 sts garter st at mid front. At the same time when piece measures 20-22-23-25-26 cm inc for sleeve as on back piece. At the same time when piece measures 21 cm dec for neck within 5 front edge sts – see explanation over: dec 1 st alternating between every 2nd and 4th row a total of 19-19-20-21-22 times. There are 79-81-82-82-83 sts left after all inc and dec on shoulder/sleeves. Cast off when piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm. Left front piece: Cast on and knit like right front but reversed. Assembly: Sew shoulder/sleeve seams with grafting sts. Sew sleeve and side seam at the same time. Twisted rope: Cut 2 threads at approx 3 meters. Twist tog until they resist, double rope and let it twist tog. Tie a knot on each end. Pull rope up and down through wave pattern approx 10 to 15 cm from bottom edge of jacket. |
