Dear Drop design team do I need to join the stitch in round and knit it in round(with circular needle) or it is knitted in a piece and sew it together in the end? thanks!

Would anyone be able to explain this sentence a bit? "AT THE SAME TIME increase 0-2-0 stitches evenly on round 1 " . Does it mean to increase 2 stitches in round 1? I don't understand what is "0-2-0" Thanks a lot!
15.12.2024 - 16:47DROPS Design answered:
Dear Connie, depending on the size you may need to increase or not stitches on the first round of the rib. For the smallest and largest size you don't increase stitches (so 0 increases). For the middle size, increase 2 stitches evenly (so spread on the round and not next to each other). Happy knitting!

Mvh DROPS Design

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of 7 ribbed stitches by each marker-stitch as follows: Work until there are 5 stitches left before the marker-stitch, slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch, work 7 ribbed stitches as before (marker-stitch is the middle stitch), knit 2 together (= 2 stitches decreased). Repeat by each marker-stitch = 6 decreased stitches on the round. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up. Change to double pointed needles when necessary as you decrease. HAT: Cast on 96-100-108 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and DROPS Air. Work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 12 cm. Turn the piece inside out and work in the opposite direction – this gives a neater fold-up. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 0-2-0 stitches evenly on round 1 = 96-102-108 stitches. Continue the rib until the piece measures 23-24-24 cm (approx. 7-7-9 cm to finished length). Remember to maintain the knitting tension. Insert 3 markers, each marker in a purled stitch with 31-33-35 stitches between each marker-stitch. Knit over knit and purl over purl and AT THE SAME TIME begin to decrease for the top of the hat – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease every 2nd round 7-7-9 times, then every round 3-3-3 times = 36-42-36 stitches. On the next round knit over knit and purl over purl, decreasing as follows by each marker-stitch: Work until there are 6 stitches left before the marker-stitch, slip 2 stitches as if to knit together, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitches over the knitted stitch = 30-36-30 stitches. Decrease like this every round a total of 2-3-2 times = 24 stitches in all sizes. Work 1 round where all stitches are knitted together 2 and 2 = 12 stitches. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 30-31-33 cm from the cast-on edge. Fold up the bottom 7 cm; the hat now measures approx. 23-24-26 cm in height. |
